Bring Your Own Beer

Hi all,

Last year was my first year of camping at V, and I saw lots of people bringing their own beer. What is the ruling on this? Can you take as much as you want into the campsite? And are you only allowed cans?

You'e hit the nail on the head. As much as you can stagger under in the campsite, cannot take it in the arena with you (see countless threads on "smuggling"). No glass permitted on site.

You're not allowed any glass and you can take as much you carry!

take as much as u want into the campsite but your not allowed it into the arena and your not allowed glass

They check your bags and take alcohol off you if you look under age

I know I have it happen to me all the time

for arena just take 2 or 3 bottles of vodka and pop in and stuff it in the back of your jeans, they rarely search you.

Yeah dont take bottles of beer, you just won't get them in as I found to my pain last year!!

Funny thing was we were shopping in asda the day before and bought cartons of wine because we knew we couldn't take bottles of wine. Then on to the next aisle we saw a great offer on bottles of beer so got 3 crates of them. Only when we got to the car park did we realise our stupid mistake!!

Every morning meant a trip to the car to fill up the 2 litre plastic bottles with beer for the day, not ideal but the walk wasted an hour, sobered me up from the previous day and allowed me to frequent some cleaner toilets

I will 100% be taking cans of beer this year!!!!!

Plus smuggling stuff into the arena is pretty easy, though I factor in an amount to buy some beers when I am deciding how much cash I will need.

We were searched very thoroughly as well. Was a bitch tryin to get drink in the arena.

Gettin it in the camp was fine tho, they didnt check us at all. I would advise putting spirits into big plastic bottles tho just in case

Will they search you as you go into the campsite if your under the legal drinking age. Theres a group of us all taking large amounts of alcohol. Will they take it off you then?

Stafford was no probs last year, a few cans down the oversized wellies and job was a good un !

I was at Staffs. I walked into the campsite with 8 of my mates. I was the only one to get searched. I guess cus I was the dodgy lookin one right!!!

I never once got searched going into the arena.
