sifi
I'm just saying, if you're expecting intelligent responses to an opinion don't bother posting on these boards. If you're happy with one liners like, "go to Reading,", "you're talking sh|t," or "go to your bedroom and have a w@nk", then i highly recommend these forums. Ashaz42
To the OP, I think Arctics are probably gonna headline Reading/Leeds this year, and that definately sounds like a Reading/Leeds lineup or even T in the Park, so I'd recommend those if you prefer that type of music. Is that any help?

lovestospoon
I don't understand why people are trying to argue that Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen have a contemporary sound; they clearly don't. But that doesn't mean they're not awesome (Bruce, anyway), however neither, or even Blur, stick out as exciting names.
sifi
That's a nice nonsensical one-liner for you right there. What does that even mean in this context? It's just a random sentence you heard once that you thought might look nice in a reply.

thischarmingman
To you they are not exciting. To many people they are exciting. The end.
LRW
Simply saying go to V or go to Reading is, frankly, a tired statement.....

coolethan
Neil Young is a genius no question, same for Bruce and Blur are one of the most underrated bands (and my favourite) of all time . I am so excited to be given the opportunity to see them all. But is it wrong for people to want to see their own favourite artists at Glastonbury? Be it Killers or be it Coldplay or be it Arctic Monkeys or even the Stereophonics (let me make it clear, as some of my past posts have been terribly misconstrued, that none of which appeal to me). Abbathehorse
Arctic Monkeys were quality in 2007. Don't understand why people thought they were poor.
thischarmingman
No it's not wrong for people to want this music - it's just a trifle annoying when nearly every other thread is full of people bitching and moaning about how crap the line up is when the line up hasn't been released yet... just a couple of bands. Artists that they like will be there - guaranteed I am not a Neil, Bruce or Blur fan but as has been said before (several times, in several clone threads) there are lots of other stages that will be filled with lots of other bands - the pyramid may well be the main stage but the other stage isn't exactly tiny is it? to be fair, both of these stages are far too far from the Brothers bar for any sane person to be entirely comfortable around them anyway! Wanderlei
now that's not quite true is it. The reason people got on your back is because you called Neil Young "substandard" and "a bore". Edited March 11, 2009 by Wanderlei
themuel
This argument has 2 sides, and neither is gonna let up, so why dont you all just agree to disagree. I dont agree with the original post, but thats just me.
Wanderlei
Neither do i. Most of us can find common ground there, i think.
alframsey
This really confuses me, people slag of Glastonbury for not having the best bands around headlining every year, but we have had them in the past! Other festivals are behind us in booking the best imo! Id rather have some diversity at a festival, not the same headliners year in year out. Go to Reading, Leeds, V, etc. for that! Also how can people be dissapointed with this years headliners? Bruce Springsteen; one of the best live proformers around, influenced so many artists its unrea! Neil Young; As with Bruce, plus he is a legend, as is Bruce! Blur; one of the best bands of the 90's!
alframsey
no i'll only be seeing NY but recognise the enourmous pull of the other 2 as well strongest line up of the summer for officiando's, weakest for scenesters
