When I was at V last year I didn't realise until I got there that my bottle of olive oil was made from glass. Fortunately there was a glass amnesty table that was very handy. I'd imagine that all major UK Festys would have a similar thing.

Another thing I found was the quality of the plastic bottles on offer were pretty good. I had a nice and sturdy one with a good top (not like a plastic lemonade bottle but hard to explain) and it was just the thing to hold the oil.

DO NOT TAKE ANY GLASS BOTTLES!!!!

If you are one of those that has your car searched when driving into the car parks, they will take your glass bottles off you, and if you have nothing for the liquids inside you'll lose them.

A few years back I happened to arrive with a box of efests mugs in the boot of my car. I got stopped and search, and the mugs were taken away - I had no choice really, it was do that or not get into the car parks.

Amusingly, the mugs ended up with Emily Eavis - I was chatting to Emily about a year ago, and she mentioned she'd acquired some and that they were near as dammit unbreakable. Seeing as she's not bought any and I've not sent her any, it can only be those mugs the gate crew took from me.

Back in 2007 at Pedestrian Gate B or C - the one near the theatre field !

Security were taking a f***g big glass jar of mayo of a lady , Thought I would watch for a bit as there

was a q to get through the gate.

Whilst she was having a bit of a moan to security about the mayo , he relieved her of a bloody big

bread knife as well.

:)
