Absolutely superb band, one of me favourites, but I hear Terry Hall (the singer) won't be joining them, pretty much rendering the reunion useless. Is this true? I don't think I want to hear a sound a like singer like they've done with The Jam.

Thanks mate, that's good to know! My father came in and dropped what I thought was a bit of a bombshell! Terry Hall is superb, so it'd be good to see him. Dammers is the keyboard player isn't he?

Terry Hall played at Rise 2008 (the anti racism gig) with Rodney P and The Dub Pistols and he said a full Specials reunion was on the cards.

At Bestival last year, they all played apart from Dammers.

From what has been said, he won't play with them.. but they were still excellent

Lilly Allen always seems to crop up on stage with them now for GANGSTERS, her dad is a good friend of the band and used to sing with them when she was younger

Anyone else see The Specials on Jools Holland last night? They seem to still have it, I really can't wait for them in particular now.

well looking forward to them at T but i cudnt wait that long,after a fuk up by a friend i am missing out on the glasgow gigs but i hav a ticket for the leeds one on 24th may.its going to be well worth the trip down!!!

When I posted in Jan or Feb suggesting they would play and somebody responded that they wouldn't do V because they're not in it for the money...after watching that painful interview its hard to see what other reason they're doing it for (Ok...30 years since 'Gangsters' was released)

Still...can't wait! Lets hope they hold together until August

Hall looked about as pissed off as a man can look on Jools Holland, was starting to worry if they'd still be together at the end of the show, let alone for V!

The specials were great on jools holland cant wait to see them now, the yeah yeah yeahs were brill too! in fact that whole show was bloody good!

Was also at the gig at Birmingham Academy on Saturday, and they were absolutely superb. I expected them to be good, but they blew me away. The atmosphere was incredible both before and during the show, and Terry, at times, looked astounded by the crowd's reaction. They should be amazing at V also, though I worry that the atmosphere might be slightly lost on the main stage. They would have been an incredible Arena headliner.
