It would be fantastic, I was too young when they were around the first time but since I was a kid they've always been my favourite band.. and Ian Brown's solo stuff is very good too!! Really enjoyed watching him in the JJB last year performing a couple of the old Stone Roses tunes :D

I am hoping this is true, and I hpe they clash with the Killers because they really are pure shite!!

Can't see where they'd fit in the line-up this year though. Unless its above Oasis...and Oasis are too big to play 2nd fiddle...although, in saying that, they've always been huge Roses fans so maybe they'd do it for the hell of it??

Them in 2010 is more likely...

Damn...I'm starting to get excited and I know its never gonna happen!

shit that news page cant be real :S

the roses reforming would be huge news in the music world

the smiths are more relikely to reunite than the roses, brown is the only one not up for it.

and as long as he wont speak to squire there will be non reunion

as much as i'd love them to prove me wrong and play V

i couldnt see them lower on the lineup than the killers

oh and isnt ian brown playing glastonbury

The 'She Bangs the Drums' group are reportedly set to put years of animosity behind them to play 21 UK shows and California's Coachella music festival to mark the 20-year anniversary of their seminal self-titled debut album.

Singer Ian Brown - now a successful solo artist - was the last to sign on for the reunion after reconciling his differences with guitarist John Squire, much to the delight of bassist Gary 'Mani' Mountfield, who is also a member of Primal Scream, and drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren.

A source said: "It's taken a lot of time to get Ian to agree but he's finally signed on the dotted line.

"The rest of the band were up for it, especially when they realised the amount of money on the table."

Last summer, Mani spoke of his desire to reunite the group for their anniversary.

He said: "Me, John and Reni are up for doing it and Ian just needs some working on. It's something I would love to do before we are all fat and bald. Start the campaign."

John quit the group in 1996, shortly before the rest of The Stone Roses decided to part ways, following a disastrous performance at that year's Reading music festival. He and Ian have not spoken to each other since.

Ian has reportedly always felt it should be John who made the first steps towards reconciliation, with the guitarist stubbornly refusing to make the initial move.

Never gonna happen mate (I say that, hoping I'm wrong!). I'm torn though...my favourite band (along with the Flaming Lips and SFA), so I'd love to see them live again...conversely, I hope they have more integrity than to do it for the money. Its a tough one.

I'm planning the compilations of the bands playing V I'm doing for a few new(ish)bies coming with us...if I can finish it with 'I Am The Resurrection', I'd be as happy as a pig in the proverbial!

The Wonderstuff would be brilliant but could never be defined as Brit Pop and in my opinion went downhill during the 90's. All that said, regardless of who the brit pop band is, I would LOVE The Wonderstuff to play (perhaps we could regress and have Ned's and Jesus Jones too!)

Reckon the Stuffies are certs. They're touring...and fit the V bill perfectly. Be good in the sunshine with a warm cider! I saw them when they toured the anniversary of the '8 Legged...' album last year with Jesus Jones supporting...very good night all round...fingers crossed
