for the nutters that ask questions like... " how much drink should I take"? " how many pair of socks?" ......"what size tent" ..... " should I take rain gear" .... " how do I carry stuff" ....." what should I eat"

I dont mind newbie questions or genuine questions from people wanting to find out stuff, but if you dont know the answer to these type of questions ,, should you really be allowed out by yourself?

That's harsh!

You don't mind newbie questions or genuine questions, do you? I think the questions you put at the beginning of your post are just that and I'd sooner read them than a pratt like you calling people that ask newbie questions or genuine questions morons!!

I think the aforementioned questions are all very valid. Because a first timer might be planning on taking loads of alcohol until somebody may point out that they'll have to walk a long way and carry it all which a first timer wouldnt necessarily know. I recon theres some repressed anger because nobody answered his questions when HE was "newbie"

I recKon you are right or...maybe he didn't ever get tickets and has never even been to Glastonbury which is a blessing with his attitude!

Bring on the questions folks

  • How much beer?

  • Wellies or Walking boots?

  • How much Money?

  • What clothing?

  • Best waterproof jacket?

  • Crocs or not?

  • Best Band?

  • Favourite wet wipes?

  • Best snacks?

  • Best place to eat?

  • Are there showers?

  • Can I get my hair washed/straightened anywhere? Or should I invest in gas straighteners?

And so many more...I love em!!!! Wish I was a newbie (AKA Moron!!) and getting excited about my first Glastonbury!!!!!

[*]How much beer?

As much as you can fit into the car. Don't carry any in your bag, as it will take up too much room. Consider that it will be difficult to keep cool and if you're on the beer all day you'll need to go to the toilet a lot. Not good if you've spent 20 minutes getting towards the front. Think about spirits, but avoid relying on geting lemonade to mix with them on-site. The taste of sweeteners are not nice.

[*]Wellies or Walking boots?

Check the weather first. If seems dry, then take boots, but still leave wellies in the car. If 50/50 walk in with boots, but strap your wellies to your bag. If 2007 style wetness, then wellies all the way

[*]How much Money?

I hear you can survive on £20 a day. I take as much as I can afford. Was great last year - had a "magic pocket" with a few hundred in it. Didn't spend it all and didn't worry about cash at all.

[*]What clothing?

Those walking trousers from camping shops that have a million pockets. Water resistant coat and col t-shirts. Also pack a long sleeved shirt or two in case or sun burn. You'll be outside a LOT more than normal, so are much more likely to burn than you would think from looking at the weather reports.

[*]Best waterproof jacket?

Berghaus are good, but make it a lightweight one.

[*]Crocs or not?

Not!

[*]Best Band?

The Lancashire Hotpots

[*]Favourite wet wipes?

Boots

[*]Best snacks?

Fruit + nut bars, E.g Eat Natural

[*]Best place to eat?

Pie Minister

[*]Are there showers?

Yes, but you're very unlikely to be bothered to go. You may not believe me now, but it's true. Also, BO will be surprisingly unnoticable by Sunday.

[*]Can I get my hair washed/straightened anywhere? Or should I invest in gas straighteners?

Yes at the Green Fields/Maybe/No

Even though you probably know all that already, I really enjoyed that! All Glasto vets should answer those questions! B) (Yes I know about the Uber Thread, but I don't remember being told how rank the lemonade would be. Not nice with Lemoncello, and last year was my 6th (ish) )

But do you have a different take on any of those questions? I'm guessing you already had your own answers?
