Glasses in Caravan

i think it all depends upon how much of a jobsworth the person checking is

the idea of no glass allowed is to stop injuries to the animals after the event and i should imagine that includes the fields the vans are in

my father in law was searched at a custom checkpoint in his van and asked if he had any knives etc

only in the kitchen area he says

custom guy says thats ok sir carry on

his fish filliting knive in particular is extremlly long strong and very sharp but classed as domestic use it seems

funny old world

I am okay with the windows - they are plastic! :D The official site only mentions no bottles in the Q and A so wanted others take on this.

Can I bring glass bottles with me in my campervan/caravan?

Glass is not permitted anywhere on festival land. The security staff will also check for any other items not permitted on site, as specified in the terms and conditions on weekend tickets. Security staff will confiscate any such items and may refuse entry to the site. The decision of the security team will be final.

Excellent. And that would make you a member of a very, very small minority - maybe even a minority of one. Many campers I know in the campervan field like to wake up, maybe make a cup of tea, get their bearings and possibly even start the day with a relaxing pint before the trek to the gate.

If the weather's nice many eat breakfast outside. Of course you would never do that. Never have a glass of orange juice standing or sitting outside of your caravan? You are taking glass that you insist will never ever leave your caravan, not even for a single second? Why have drinking containers in your caravan at all if you spend every waking minute in the festival?

BTW - you can't possibly have an awning either. Many do, but you obviously don't.

Cup of coffee will be made and juice will be drunk whilst in the comfort of our kingsized bed planning who we are going to see. Then its up and out, no intentions of cooking when there is all that yummy food to be had!

My fully kitted out caravan is in storage 20 miles away, so we get our clothes together , collect caravan and set off. I asked the question so I don't have to make a separate journey to remove a total of 6 wine glasses in a box that are resident in the caravan. Where do you propose I leave the glasses that are stored in there? I also have a lot of plastic glasses in they are easier to stow when towing however I doubt these will get used either.

Oh and yes I have a porch awning - essential for muddy wellies, is this a crime??? :D

Rules are rules and I personally would not dream of sitting outside with a glass in case I got caught and got it confiscated, but like many caravaners the things are always there.

Why sit in an awning when you have a comfy caravan? Might as well camp!!!

This has also made me think of all things glass and I always take a mirror as I expect do most people do ......yikes!!

Excellent point.

Why sit in a caravan when you could book an even more comfortable hotel room to sit in?

The world takes all sorts. To hear a caravanner who doesn't consider staying in a caravan to be the least bit associated with camping and enjoying the great outdoors is odd, but there are even stranger beings out there.....
