This list reeks of buying some older albums, that's all.

Mind you, there's little that's new that doesn't reek of shit. It's a very long time since I saw a new band worth talking about, and I see 400+ bands each and every year.

Clearly this is all subjective, but I think there's a lot of good music out there; I'm just struggling to see where the future great artists will be coming from.

but that's the beauty of music, eh? you can never predict where the next exciting thing can come from, for 40 years now, people have been predicting the death of popular music, but it retains the capacity to suprise and blow you away again and again.

id say its got even harder to predict than even 5/6 years ago.

the explosion of t'internet has meant that more music is being listened to in hundreds of different ways, which makes spotting 'the next big thing' early, close to impossible

true, true, but that's a small price to pay for being able to liwten to lads of different music or get it instantly. It's an amzing thing. Granted you listen to music in a different way and maybe the ubiquity of it means that it's not all roses, but given the choice between now, where Ican get any album in the world (pretty much) wihtin a couple of minutes, and when i was 16 and the only record shop was Our Price with awful staff and a six week wait for orders, well, ain't no choice, really ;-)
