Anyone else remember Domus or the Classical Stage from 1980-something.

I fell in love with a Cello player in Domus, head full of shrooms and large instrument's between a pretty girls legs are a heady mix.

The Experimental Sound stage from 1992, in the field that is now Shangri La IIRC. Total insanity for the whole weekend.

All the full scale rigs in the markets from the early to mid 90's.

Both sorely missed (although probably not by Mendip District Council...).

I always had a soft spot for Wango Riley's. Remember watching some traveller and his lurcher sharing a bottle of cider there while a crusty band (maybe The Moonflowers?) played to about 20 people in the blazing sunshine way back in the day.....

Could be wrong but Ive an old copy of Select from 94/95 with a photo taken inside the fabled underground bar. I'll dig it out if i can and scan it up for you young Neil.

it might have existed prior to when I photo'd it, but I defo photo'd it in '98 or later .... I think it was probably 2000 or 2002. The pics are on this website in the Glasto galleries somewhere.

i miss the radio 1 soundstage where the charge and chill tent is now, seen many great dj sets there by fabio & grooverider, adam freeland and the hacienda night in 2004.

i cant say the same for that horrible energy 24 stage that was round the corner from it. pounding out shite happy hardcore with mcs 24hrs a day. good riddance!
