I think i read this on a thread somewhere, but to be honest didn't want it to be true, so dismissed it.........

But can you no longer buy bottles for a £10 at the brothers bar???

I missed out last year, but in 2007 they were still serving bottles.................... Please say that this was a figment of my imagination and that they do still serve the pure joy liquid in bottles.............

I believe they were withdrawn during 2007 for a couple of reasons. Also that now everything must be in biodegradable containers etc.

I remember them running out during 2007, but wasn't aware that they were withdrawn!!!!

Why withdrawn?? Surely use bio-degradable or recyclable bottles..................

Defo did not do them last year due to plastic rule thing. They wouldn't even fill the bottle i took up and asked them to fill. gutted

I think we might have a challenge on our hands to try and persuade Mr Eavis to let Brothers use these bottles....unless we come up with technological advances in the materials industry.....

what about smaller traders selling 500ml bottles of soft drinks? If they are allowed, why not Brothers 2 litre bottles...

Could they not give out bottles on payment of a deposit? Then you just return to get your bottle refilled and return it at the end for your deposit back.

People get cider in bottles....make deposit worthwhile, say £10 and peeps are likely to look after and return them.

not a bad idea to be honest....the bottles were only thin plastic, so once you have drained one bottle, you can always flatten them and pop in your bag ready for your next fill up...

after partaking in a bit too much of brothers finest are you really going to look after a plastic bottle in a crowd and also at ten squids a throw there could be an issue of theft from a drunken person,pinch 10 from person/persons well under the influence and you could have yourself a ton

Solve this mystery and we can start working on a solution..........................

If its the plastic issue or if its they don't want to encourage mass pear cider drinking???

I remeber reading it was something to do with Mendip Council being concerned with the quantity of very strong alcohol being sold in the bottles.

You can't buy a litre of vodka there though so its out of their control....... thankfully!

its our choice...............

and we are gonna drink that much anyways............ Just buy them in pints, its just a hassle.............

give us the bottles..............

last year we took a 2 litre mineral water bottle...drank it...then decanted pints into it with a small funnel we carried with us... simple

i seem to remember a discussion on here last year in how the festival essential for 2008 was a funnel...
