We bought a couple of these last year, great for water in the day and bear/cider/wine at night and they hold nearly 2 pints - especially useful when walking in the mud as you can clip them to your bag/belt with a carabiner leaving both hands free.

we had those bottles in 2007, don't remember them in 2008

i thought they were withdrawn due to health and safety

people were consuming large amounts of alcohol very very quickly and getting sick

last year i took a 1 litre plastic bottle and decanted

they were asked to stop providing bottles as there was so much litter in 2007, the jazzworld field was a sea of crushed green plastic bottles. it was horrible.

this is a reply I got from Brothers Cider....does not give too more than what we could have probably guessed

Mark

Many thanks for your enquiry, we will no longer be serving Brothers in 2 litre bottles, as we are obliged to comply by the directions of the licence holder of the festival site.

Yes I know its a pain to carry ID but the bar staff have only a split second to decide to ask for ID and under the new rules they can end up with a Criminal Conviction if they fail to ask and a person who is under 18 gets served.

Its also a split decision to decide if a person is drunk - they will be told to go away and sober up but we do use a lot of common sense.

I appreciate that some people will think its none of the bar staff business but under the new rules it is their business.

Well said.

Bar staff get alot of stick when they do ask for id and I think alot of people don't actually understand the personal implications.

Everyone should carry some form of id if they run the risk of being asked. I carry mine everywhere...i get asked all the time! (well I can dream...I havent been asked for about 10 years!)
