Places to buy booze

There will be 3 of us arriving at Bristol airport on the Wednesday morning and we are unsure of where to get stocked up on a couple of slabs of beer and some boxes of wine. I know there is a bus that runs from the airport to Bristol then we could get one of the buses from Templemeads after stocking up in Asda.

That seems like a load of faffing around so we wondered if we were to get a cab from the airport direct to Glasto is there anywhere on the way that sells reasonably priced booze that we could stop at? Also any idea of which cab firms will run from the airport to the site???

Thanks for any help!

Tesco superstore in Shepton Mallett is only 2 miles from the site. There's also an Argos superstore next door for anything last minute you might need...

from Bristol airport you're almost halfway there tbh...so dont even consider going back into Bristol itself for an Asda etc. Ask cab driver to take you to Shepton Mallett on the Wells road and you'll avoid getting stuck in the fest traffic coming form the West. From Shepton Mallett its then an easy 2 miles for the cab driver to take you to the drop off point and you can then get the coach shuttle onto site.

Depends what route the Taxi driver takes you, but..

Coming in through Shepton, there's the Tesco already mentioned.

Coming in through Glastonbury Town, there's the Morrisons already mentioned.

But best of all, coming in through Wells, there's the very Somerfield store featured in "Hot Fuzz".

Coming down the A38 go to Burnham on Sea - the junction where you will join motorway. there is a Tesco half mile down the road. Very accessible and you won't have the crowds/queues at Glastonbury or Shepton Mallet (Shepton is on the wrong side for you the way you will be approaching). I used to live in Burnham

We are coming with 9 people from Holland and the taxi wich we made reservations for (Important) is 40 pounds for (I think with luggage ) 3 persons per taxi.

So we'll be buying wodka and some wine here. But for us it's better then ever because of the cheap pound!

The thing to remember with driving oneself is that - especially if it's muddy - you might need to be at the car parks very early Monday morning to get out quickly. When conditions aren't so good, 8 to 10 hours is a common story, from people who've gone to their car a little later. (Taxis don't get affected like that)

Worth noting if you've got a flight to catch.

Don't know yet wich taxi company, but we pay 225 pounds for a van for 10 people from Bristol to the festival and back. But be sure to arange this soon I think. You can ask for the way back to meet at Shepton Mallet in front of the pub there (that's what we did before and worked out fine)

That's do-able...
