I love mine. the only drawback is the lack of porchspace but there is room for wellies to be left between the outer and inner skins at the entrance.

The key to not looking a fool at the end of the festie is to practice putting it down at home....over and over and over again!

PROS:

- Pops up fast and you're set up with a cider within minutes.

- Really light (easy to carry).

- Relatively waterproof although terrible for condensation (easily sorted).

CONS:

- Hard to put away if you haven't practised. After a couple of times its really easy though.

- Quite small and I'd only ever advise it for someone planning to camp alone.

The putting away is a doddle once you know how. The first steps are easy, but there is a leap-of-faith step where you think - this cannot possibly work. But it does, and 30 seconds later it's in the bag.

I do find mine (gen 2 three man XL - larger disc) hateful to carry, but build quality is tops and it coped with 2007 just fine. And in 2008 no condensation.

When it comes to pop-ups, it's worth remembering that although Quechua isn't perceived as a premium tent manufacturer, they invented them. Only vango has a credible competitor.

If you're not sure what makes it is, then it's very unlikely to be Quechua - as they're only sold in Decathlon stores and you'd know if you'd been there.

Petty or not, I'm afraid that also means that you really don't know what you're talking about in this case - they're very different (and has been mentioned multiple times vastly superior) products to basic Gelert and similar models on sale in Argos, Milletts, etc.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for all your advice on this one guys...im actually off to decathalon today.. and im gonna have a sit in tents etc and check them out...

I must admit, the poll seems to have been a waste of time given alot of peeps mistook me for general pop up tents as opposed to the quechua.

Ah well, i havent really found anything other than flatpack size that was an issue which in my opinion stands in good stead for a purchase today!

OOh how very exciting!

Thanks again! :)

Putting up a Quechua is really easy, so YES!

But, It's not compact, so carrying it all the way from the car to the camping site is wack, so NO!

I don't mind putting up a regular tent at all. When I'm festivalling I have all the time in the world, so I don't care if I put it up in 2 seconds or in 20 minutes.

Oh yeah, getting it back in the bag is also sort of a challenge.

In the end, don't do it.
