Is it just me or has many people seen the two headliners every year they've been???

This is my 3rd V and i have seen the past 3 years of headliners

The best was either The Verve or Foo Fighters, Then The Killers. Muse was a waste of time for me

Oasis will be the best headliners i'll have probably seen out of the past 3 Vs

the last time i didnt see the main stage headliner was v06, watched kasabian instead of radiohead. muse were easily the best headliner ive seen, killers were the worst, the verve and foo fighters were brilliant, although not on the same level as muse.

2001 I watched RHCP on Main stage [toploader was on second stage headlining] then the Sunday I watched Muse headline second stage as Texas were headlining main

2005 was next time I went, I watched Prodigy headline second stage [whilst Scissor Sisters did main], the Sunday I watched half of Oasis then left to watch SFA headline the Union and they were late on and finished about 30 minutes after Oasis did as well, it was empty by the time they started, when they finished it was packed out ha ha

2006 I watched both main stage headliners Morrissey and Radiohead

2007 I watched The Killers on main, I think I may have left and watched the end of Coxon in the Union though, and Sunday I watched half of Foos headline and then Primal Scream in the JJB

2008 I watched The Verve on main then went to watch Chemical Brothers in the JJB [they must have been on a good 30 minutes after Verve had finished], then Sunday I watched Prodigy on Second stage

This year again I'll probably do a mix of headliners again, jumping from one stage to another

The Foo Fighters have been the best headliners V has ever put on (at least the ones I've been to), but then I think Dave Grohl is a god and so I'm bias. They were awesome at Wembley and hope they forget this hiatus and come back ASAP!

The Verve were awesome for the nostalgia value and probably the next best headliner I've seen.

To be fair though I've enjoyed all the headline acts, but if you go to a festival don't just go for the headliners, see as many different bands as possible, otherwise save yourself a few bob and go and see the two big acts at their own gigs

2007 I watched Killers - superb inthe rain.

2008 - VERVE!!! my god, I'll never forget that night - was absolutely FANTASTIC!! I thought they would be good, but not that good, very nostalgic and the crowd were just so brilliant, and Richard Ashcroft gave everything he had to give - best headliner for me (and I love the Killers!!!)

Can't wait to see Killers and Oasis this year.

2003 - Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay

2004 - Delays and Muse

2005 - Half of Scissors Sister/Prodigy and Oasis

2006 - Cooper Temple Clause and Fatboy Slim

2007 - had to go home on the Saturday and watched Foo Fighters on the Sunday

2008 - The Verve and Muse

So thats 7.5/11 headliners

Therefore i have watched approx. 68% of the mainstage headliners in my time at V

This is going to rack my brains (especially early V Festivals as the whole weekend seemed to be a haze) - I've put Main Stage in bold - can only think of one year I watched both :

'98 - The Verve and Fun Lovin Criminals

'99 - Finlay Quaye and Massive Attack

'00 - Travis and Moby

'01 - Ian Brown and Texas

'02 - Stereophonics and Badly Drawn Boy

'03 - Coldplay and Red Hot Chillis

'04 - The Bees and The Strokes

'05 - Oasis and The Prodigy

'06 - Radiohead and Razorlight

'07 - Foo Fighters and Damien Rice

'08 - The Prodigy (only went one day)

I've long since stopped worrying about headliners. For me 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004 were standout years where I really enjoyed who I saw at the end of the day. This year; I may catch Oasis but likelihood is I'll be elsewhere on both nights...

Paul Weller

1997

Blur

The Prodigy

1998

The Verve

The Charlatans

1999

Moby

Travis

2001

Muse

RHCP

2002

Manic Street Preachers

Groove Armada

2003

2004

Muse

The Strokes

2005

Oasis

The Prodigy

2006

Richard Hawley :( (it's a long story.....)

Chemical Brothers

2008
