Spiky Mike
They were the reason I first braved Glasto in 1989. I had always hated the idea of camping, but my love of this band forced me to give it a go. Have not missed a Glasto since and The Waterboys more than any other band capture the vibe of the festival for me. They did a song called "Glastonbury Song", recoded a live album there and 2 years ago did 3 seperate sets. Will they be coming this year? howard the oryx
Dragged myself out of bed at an ungodly hour (10am!! ) in 2007 to go and see them, we plopped ourselves down knee deep in mud and popped open a can and they never played our favourite!! "Whole of the Moon"..... kinda thought they would have ....... hope they play again but only if they play "Whole of the Moon"
cortezuk
I have a suspicion that the the antics of "a friend" being rather smashed on whisky and singing the chorus wrongly and badly between every song may have slightly contributed to the absence of Whole of the Moon. "He" has promised to behave himself a bit better next time he sees The Waterboys as "he" really really likes that song too. I promise to behave too - saw them on Avalon stage in 2007 and for somestrange reason kept shouting out for Lindisfarne songs (it seemed funny at the time!). They were superb - played Whole of Mon at Avalon ands Acoustic that year but the highlight was Red Army Blues at Avalon (or was it Acoustic?). Would love an appearance but doubt that 2009 will see themthey - but surely a definite for next years anniversary special
Spiky Mike
Anyone know when their new album is out? Really want them at Glasto, although am very happy with Madness and The Specials so far.
