pedmills
He would make a great other stage headliner, but who knows if it will actually happen? He was arrested I think and the only source for rumours was a quote AGES ago from ME just saying that they want him. Oh and ivan's other stage list... Squall Moogle
Comparing Kanye to Akon is like comparing the Descendents to Busted
hombrederayo
Id love to see this happen...I much prefer Kanye's stuff to Jay-z so this would be ace. Be a good other stage headliner, or 2nd on bill on pyramid maybe. Too big for anywhere else I think.
Ed209
Rap music is an eyesore for ones ears so Kanye would get an amusing fail image too.
Squall Moogle
Thats a pretty sweeping statement for a whole genre of music NWA, Public Enemy, Wu-Tang, Sugarhill Gang, Biggie, Cypress Hill, J5 .... all crap are they?
Un Adepte Des Raconteurs
Yep . Though admittedly they are less so than their commercial counterparts. It kinda gets on my nerves how these days there is a Jo Wileyesque attitude that everyone ought to view hip hop as deep and interlectual to the level of classic pieces of fiction. To me nearly all the genre just sounds idiotic. It doesn't mean anything to me anyway, I guess if I lived in (for lack of a better word), the "ghetto" or similar surroundings then I would relate but I don't. I grew up in middleclassville, I am Asatru (as well as an Occultist) and am keenly interested in my herritage and culture, I find Norse, Anglo Saxon and Celt mythology greatly interesting, though I still have much to learn in this area. Putting the shoe on the other foot however, I am a big fan of Amon Amarth. Now I normally listen to less growly metal but they are one of my fave bands. I love what they sing about, they are an Asatru band and sing about the lore, the Gods, the history of back then. In short words, I can relate to them well and I wouldn't expect a lot of black people in ghetto type places or whatever to appreciate them. A lot of white people who like hip hop do so because they lack knowledge of their own history or herritage.

sifi
NWA and Public Enemy are fantastic. Squall Moogle - "A lot of white people who like hip hop do so because they lack knowledge of their own history or herritage" - what is white people's music exactly please? I think you are showing your own lack of musical knowledge if you say something like that, to be honest. Squall Moogle
Troll or c**t? I can't decide. Actually, what with all that Asatru Amon Amarth (I'm sure I went to school with him) doing the rounds, there must be some trolls amongst the pixie wizards and goblins. Shoes on feet, history of back then, black people in ghetto type places. This post has it all...
sifi
I wouldn't be surprised if a fair few of you would feel pretty much the same in regard to the genres mentioned in the last sentance if they were to play. theleedslads
Saw him at Global for a few songs last year, and he was poor. I just Wanted Daft Punk to come on stage to do one song with him (as if!)
Squall Moogle
Oh do shut up. I saw Amon Amarth support Slayer and they were shit. Manowar levels of shite. So - explain this please "A lot of white people who like hip hop do so because they lack knowledge of their own history or herritage" You don't know much about musical heritage do you?
