Popping THE question at Glasto

Guest BIG question @ Glasto

Recommended Posts

Good Evening Folks.

As the topic suggests, I have decided to propose to my other half at this years festival.

What I am looking for is some suggestions on locations and ways in which to do this.

We have been to Glastonbury in previous years, and this is a hugely special place to both of us.

However I do not know all of the special places around the site.

I have searched around efestivals and found a few threads on this topic but not a great deal of information within them.

My initial thoughts are at sunrise at the stone circle, or potentially walk up there around midday when it will be quieter and more secluded.

Do any of you guys have any other suggestions?

I would also appreciate some pointers towards any regular stalls there that sell jewellery as I plan to buy a token ring there to present her with in leiu of taking an expensive ring to the festival that I would hate to loose or have stolen.

So I open the floor to all of your experiences and suggestions to help me ask the love of my life to be my Wife.

P.S - I am an existing member here, but have registered with a new identity as there is a fair chance the other half will log on to this site with my standard log in, forgive me if i dont mention my other user name.

The Stone Circle seems obvious - but if looking for alternatives go a little further along t the slope overlooking the new Tipi field with the flags behind yu and the awesomesight of the site opening up behind the Tipis it is quite a beautiful and quiet spot ;)

Find out her favourite band at the festival that isnt too big.

Get them involved. Doesnt hurt to ask.

I doubt they'll do it mid set, but going about it, myspace is always a good use. For example, frank turner replies to pretty much every message ive ever sent him on myspace, and none of them were ever important. Like when i told him he came in at number 3 as the most popular band at reading...he was chuffed.

Stone circle at sunrise would be awesome. Was my first thought.

Other ideas:

At the top of the tower in the Park, where you can see the whole of Glastonbury

At a silent disco, take both your headphones off and propose to her over the silence of everyone else's partying (haha, how surreal would that be?)

There is also a small tunnel (under the railway line), which I've yet to find myself. Think it is off the Green peace field. But the stone dragon in the stream is lovely, although when I was there trying to take some shots all I could hear was a very nasty man having a go at his 'women'. Kind of spoilt the moment ...

Has anyone suggested the top of the ribbon tower?

Or, you could do something fun like make a clay 'marry me?' where they have the clay stuff ... ooh, a bit vague but you can make stuff out of clay, somewhere .... !!!

A suggestion from my missus:

You might want to not plan things too much (time, location etc.) and go with the flow when you're there. There are so many unpredictable factors at Glastonbury (weather, music, vibe at any given moment) that you might find your magical moment completely unexpectedly. Or the opposite: you plan to do it at x time and y place but it's raining, or she's really tired, or you can't get away from other people.

But it's definitely a winner of a plan! She went all dewy-eyed at the prospect and said I should have done the same.
