Sipperana
....to have a thread on here about whether a band is rumoured to be playing Glastonbury, without people expressing their opinions on whether they like them or not? I'm as guilty as any other of saying why would anyone want to see Coldplay/Kings of Leon/Hot Chip/Courteeners or whoever, which satisfies my misplaced sense of musical superiority but doesn't add anything to the debate about the festival line-up. Or does it? Would enough people saying they can't stand this band or that band actually have any influence on whether the would be signed up to play? Am I talking testes? Should I go to bed? Mr_Grump
I agree wholeheartedly - there are 130,000+ other people with their own unique taste in music. cran
Dount if it's possible. Too many armchair grouches (myself included) that like nothing more than a good grumble.
shiveringsky
I don't really understand what the harm is in a little difference of opinion? I thought the purpose of a forum was precisely for this sort of discussion? Sorry If I am missing the point... I really enjoy it around here (not typically big into forums) and really appreciate how everyone seems so respectful of each other and generally jovial even when expressing a differing opinion. Of course we've all got unique tastes, but wouldnt it be so very boring if we all had the same opinion too? What would be the point in posting anything then? I'm confused. Sorry! Sipperana
The point being missed, I think, is that the threads are started presumably in order to ask if anyone knows whether x or y band is rumoured to be playing. They quickly descend into discussions about whether x or y band is any good or not. I'm all for healthy debate - I'd be the last person to deny anyone the right to slag a band off, or bump them up - it just struck me that there tends to be more of the latter than any meaningful discussion about who is or isn't likely to be playing. CrunchyFrog
OMG you are soooo wrong. That figure is just rubbish - more like 150,000+ - you obviously have no taste in numbers. Goose is nowhere near as good as Turkey and I would much rather have lamb in any case. And surely everyone knows that Cumin is the spice of life. tsk, tsk - you really should get you facts straight before spouting off on someone's thread.....
