Nu Metal Revival

So after reading a few of the threads on here, the reactions to the bands announced this year seem wholeheartedly positive. I personally loved the whole "Nu Metal" genre, and since more "indie" bands came to prominance over the last few years, Nu Metal has taken a back seat, with only Linkin Park really retaining their mass appeal. What are peoples thoughts on this? Do you reckon there's going to be a switch back or is it just a bit of a coincidence that all of these bands are touring this year?

i hope not. well in the mainstream anyway, like radio 1 daytime. i loved it at school when these sort of bands were our bands and people thought we were weird cos of it

i bloody well hope not. i loved nu-metal at the time, and for a drunken sing-a-long remininisce-a-thon with my friends, i'd happily watch some of these bands at Download. but an actual revivial? no thanks. i think metal is in a very healthy state right now, and we don't need it being reqound 10 years!

as for Linkin Park, i never understood their popularity at the time, these days i find it even more baffling! f**king hate them!

I think Limp Bizkit will have success with a new album, but I think it will have to have a modern sound

Papa Roach have changed their sound to go with the scene today, they would have to do the same

i saw 'em supporting Deftones years ago, found it massively boring and it sounded suspiciously too perfect. to which i'm sure people will reply 'it's cos they're such good musicians...', but whats the point of a live show if it sounds identical to the cd...?
