That attitude is part of the reason I'll stop going to festivals...I made a poor joke....I wouldnt ever dream of doing it...seriously mate...if you like your tunes....go and see somebody else...why wait round for somebody you hate to abuse them when there is a band on another stage you might love..focus on the good stuff, not the bad........

I feel that Vfestival if anything, if anything needs its strict rule policies relaxing, not more official / unofficial rules created.

Already we have no crowd surfing, no fires, no this, no that…no something else.

It used to be pretty relaxed, now they even employ ‘undercover’ steward’s who intent is only to ruin people’s innocent fun.

I don’t really object to bottle throwers, it seems to be the norm at other festivals – what I do oppose is the 30+ nanny brigade trying to convert a music festival, into some kind of police state.

It’s a bit weird that the two most passionate people in this debate – both seem to have forgotten that Woodstock is supposedly happening this year?, and it was the guy from Panic at the Disco who got knocked out at Reading, not the guy from Funeral For a Friend?. Music fans?, or shit girl band fans?.... I rest my case.

I stand corrected! It was quite hard to tell as I had my fingers in my ears for most the set...some good points though...v does appear to be very rule happy...

But what happens when the music is bullsh*t, it's very easy to say 'don't go'...what if you've already got an early bird ticket? 'If you don't like girl/boy bands go & watch another stage' - What if it's the choice between taylor swift, mutya, lemar or the script?

THe bottle throwing thing earlier in the thread was obviously not serious yet people have jumped on it trying to stamp down their authority & in the process made themselves look like fools. Jordan now looks like a fool as he threw a bottle at Amy Whinehouse, she did a good job of making herself look dreadful without your help mate. Staffisknot has admitted in this thread that at a previous V he punched (by his own admission) a 'little kid' in the face...well done mate, you're a rock hard, alpha male stamping his authority on the festival..........tit.

But you did misquote me as if they were under 17 I'd of called them a kid, I said I lamped a teenager, nor am I trying to pass myself off as some kind of hardman - I hardly think stopping a teenager makes me hardcase. I am a very laid back and happy go lucky person but I acted to stop someone doing something grossly offensive to the weakest group of people he could find. Plain and simple I'd do it again, not to make me seem great but because any normal person would get a grip of the little sod and want him off the site rather than bragging to his mates and doing it again.

Oh just out of interest what is your normal method of dealing with someone who chucks cups of urine at disabled people at a music festival? I only ask as apparently my method is so abhorrent I would like to know a more suitable one...

I'm not on here for self promotion or to make myself look good I'm far too old for all that adolescent posing, and I'm not on here to pick an arguement with you over the rights or wrongs of stopping someone throwing bottles at bands or the disabled stand, and considering we are both coming from the same side of the fence - bottle chuckers are bad and Seasick Steve not appearing is bad for V why the hell are we wasting forum text on something that happened over 4 years ago?

Yes god lets move on because quite frankly I'm bored of this now - If the post about me 'filling bottle chuckers in' is so offensive I'll even change it to how it should have been written if I hadn't been annoyed at what I thought were people going to chuck urine at acts - if I'd been calmer it should have read 'I'll grab hold of you drag you off to security' as that's what I'd do. There's my olive branch so we can get back to normality, if you don't want it fine.

I have already said I misunderstood, thought some people were taking someone's joke comment and actually talking about bottling an act and I wasn't the only one. I've also said I overeacted by having a go at them but anyone who wants to make me out to be some kind of neanderthal narcissit who gives a crap what complete strangers think of them and posts 'hardman' stories to make himself seem tough doesn't know me at all and quite frankly I don't care.

The reason Glasto does so well is the people who go to it, somehow it just seems a lot more relaxed. Mind you V seems a hell of a lot more chilled than Leeds / Reading where some minority elements do seem to want a bit of mayhem. Also a lot of the rules that V enforce are ones laid upon them in the site licence - Weston Park is a country estate, having a few scorch marks on the lawns probably brasses them off and so they want that taken out. The whole patting us down at the entrance is a pain but having some security bloke tap you a couple of times is hardly the world's greatest hardship, I think the time to scream is if them do a random cavity search ;)

You can't attend Download festival without your best piss bottle throwing arm having had some practise, bottle of piss, mosh pits the lot and it is allot more relaxed (in my opinion) that Glastonbury and V, there was some trouble there in 2007 (the day trippers not wanting to leave), even the people who work at festivlas selling chairs and the MASH site etc.. all think Download is the happiest friendliest festival in the UK. And they all chuck piss, don't go though, you would have you work cut out grabbing hold of nearly everyone and marching them to security  Olive branch taken.

Indie was at Download that year but didn't camp onsite as came up on the bike with a group of five. Got dragged into the mosh by then girlfriend during Herman Li's Nintendo being b*ggered style tunes (love that guy), lasted about 9 minutes before decided I'd rather chill instead - people kept smacking into my back protector and knee sliders and complaining too. Funnily enough no one seems to give you any hassle when your walking around in black bike leathers with several similarly clad individuals - don't think they realise most bikers are totally chilled friendly types, was a bit too hot for that kit though. One kid thought we were in riot gear because of the lids in bags and knee sliders. Was hell only having one pint each day though.

Yes Download is chilled out by metal and hard rock standards but then you expected to be smacked about a bit at these events, its not like you take your fine bone china for a picnic to a Metallica concert - the amps would trash it for starters.

I was back up at the track after and they were still trying to remove the debris before the MotoGP
