rosstopher
Nothing daft about a persons opinion, to a lot of people the Glastonbury line-up is crud and unless you have been to Glastonbury you won't realise that Glastonbury is about so much more than the line-up unlike other festivals. They hadn't been so were judging it by all the others standards and because the line-up isn't their thing they were doubting whether to go or not, completely understandable. Kyelo
i agree, if i hadnt been to glastonbury before and i saw the headliners for this year i would not have been overly exited to go (apart from blur), but as it happens, i went last year, and now i intent to go to every single one i can!, i dont blame the chap, he was only stating his opinion and he got his head ripped off! rosstopher
Exact same here, I only went last year because my dad took me. I plan going every year from now on. The rumoured line-up and headliners ain't my thing but there will be something there and it's an amazing place. It's funny the amount of people that told him to 'f*ck off, got to V then' etc and people on here say Glastonbury is a nicer festival and has nicer people than other festivals. They are just as bad as chavs at V, scum at Leeds, neds at T etc it's snobs here. Even the open minded Glastonbury isn't immune to d*ckheads obviously. Kyelo
haha yeh man, i dont think there all dickheads though telling him to f*** off, i think people just get frustrated cos they hear the same thing over and over and get sick of trying to convince people away from there opinions, so they just think f*** it, f*** them sorta thing, i'm sure there all lovely realy lol, not been to any other festivals but glastonbury, i'm kinda afraid to now, cos i get this feeling any other will just be a let down... Bradders
I completely understand that he doesn't like the current rumoured acts, the only one I want to see is Blur but the stupid part of his post was taking these 5 or 6 bands and referring to them as "the lineup". We know hardly any of the bands playing so far.

staggerlee
Why do people start these threads? If you want to be a fool and return your ticket please do so. There is going to be a ridiculous demand for one in April. The less whinghers at Glastonbury the better.
paulo999
I had a peek at the thread in the V forum. Sounds like comments there have changed godders' mind.
whisty
It's simple, go see bands you don't know & expand your horizon. All headliners played on small stages at some point. See them before you need a telescope to get a glimpse

mouth
just read the thread in the v forum. one thing i would like to say to godders is look at the difference in your 2 thread titles. in the v forum it was Anyone been to Glastonbury and V Festival? How do they compare and is Glasto better? and in the glastonbury one it was What a rubbish line-up so far (I'm thinking of cancelling, it's so bad), . Can you see why people were angry here but not in the v forum. If you'd asked the same non inflammatory question people would have responded a lot better to you. just my thoughts. i'm sure you'll have a quality time. rosstopher
thats the problem with glasto. i get offered free reading tickets every year and every year i turn them down. its just not a festival.

Fowlyetti
I agree the line up is poor so far (as last year) but there is plenty of time for things to improve.. and Glasto is about more than music anyway!
lme
Yeah your probably correct lol nicer than they make out! Other 'festivals' I go to I look at as big gigs and Glastonbury, well Glastonbury lol there's nothing you can really do about it! haha
ShadyBlueBell
Is it just me or is anyone else considering cancelling Glasto this year? The rumoured line-up is very disappointing, in my opinion. There is not one act (apart from Blur probably) that I would pay money to go and see in their own right. Didn’t Mr Eavis say a couple of years ago he wanted to attract younger visitors to his festival? I’m no spring chicken myself but acts like Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Springsteen, Fairport Convention, Crosby Stills Nash, and Tom Jones etc aren’t going to help at all. They actually make me feel young. I think the final nail in the coffin was when I read that Des O’Connor was rumoured to be there. Give me strength! Things better improve soon or I’ll be cashing in my ticket for the Leeds or V Festival. Anyone else considering cancelling or is it just me?? William of Walworth
Just caught up. Sorry you've had to put up with some shit on here from the Glasto fundamentalists, some of them would defend Glasto if it consisted of watching a man play a triangle with a letter opener, accompanied by a cow mooing. Tim2006
Can I just point out to anyone who's tempted to agree that the line up is shit and now want to cancel their ticket: Firstly, please do so as if the very fact you're going to Glastonbury doesn't make you happy, then nothing will!!! Secondly, Fleetwood Mac looked like they were going to be a dead cert to play this year. Everyone has been talking about them for weeks and getting really excited and then we find out today that they're not playing. At the end of the day, the official line-up hasn't been announced yet and so you're not going to definitely know who is playing until it is. So how can you moan!?! I'm not sure I can be any plainer than this!?!?!?!
zach_dingle
lets face it the headliners are not going to appeal to the younger generation but can anyone think of a young band who are capable of headlining. plenty of good bands, vampire weekend, mgmt etc but they simply are not big enough to headline. too much deadwood knocking about in my opinion, we need something along the line of a punk rock revolution to sort the good from the bad
