russycarps
Or the dream threesome of Doves followed by Flaming Lips followed by Nick Cave headlining the Other Stage..... on the thursday. Not much to ask
thatshowitstarts...
I'm just grateful that if they are to play Glasto, with Franz headlining the other stage on Saturday, they won't be clashing with the Boss. So any other slot at all will do for me! If ever there was a band that 'typified' Glastonbury, its the Flaming Lips. Do the right thing Eavis.... russycarps
they'll be playing sunday before blur. I can feel it in my waters* *either that or I need a piss
rosstopher
anyone seen the vid of them doing a new years show with the white stripes? something like that would be immense!!!
Icewulf
Words can't even describe just how good a Flaming Lips gig is... They were the first band I ever saw live, and to be honest every gig I've been to since has been meagre in comparison. Even Muse, and they are mind blowing live! I can't think of anything better than a singalong to Yoshimi in the summer sun
DaveMac
Here is a glimpse of their last Glasto outing ...
kohoutec
Ooh, massive goosebumps watching that again. One of my favourite (if not the favourite) Glastonbury moments. I've got the AVIs somewhere, I may have to dig them out again Edited April 7, 2009 by kohoutec

russycarps
I can't listen to that song although i love it so much!! i find it really depressing if you listen to it. Don't think i could handle that at glasto. Neil
chemicalneil
I dont think it is depressing at all. It tells us to live life to the full. I think it is an inspiring song. You realise the sun doesn't go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round These are not depressing lyrics!
kohoutec
I find it a really uplifting song. To me it says "everyone is going to cop it one day, that's a given, so why not enjoy it while you can"
russycarps
it also tells you everyone you love will one day die!!! I know this is true and obvious but glasto is quite emotional anyway without hearing that. great song though and wayne is a fu*king hero!!! great band
Joshuwarr
i have to hear that song live one day. beautiful
Lynne Scratch Perry
2003 was my first year, what an experience seeing Flaming Lips. Not much, if anything, has eclipsed that since. Also that year, Mogwai and Polyphonic Spree. Brilliant!

Tugger2k
A-f**king-men to that. Best set I've ever seen at glastonbury. They blew radiohead away.
Tugger2k
Radiohead are good, but not *that* good. Don't believe the hype. Flaming Lips all day long for me. And wayne coyne isn't an utter helmet, unlike Thom yorke, which is a bonus.
ig1234
Moby was the best thing I saw in 2003. And this from a huge R.E.M. and Radiohead fan. *legs it* Flaming Lips would be immense again though. Didn't know them in 2003, watched from the hill until it all got crazyfun and legged it down ASAP with my mate. They're playing the bloody Pyramid Marquee at Werchter. HOW COOL!
