I can see where your comming from, one would think that there split from Parlophone after Hail to the Theif they were an unsigned band and with the "digital" release of in-rainbows done by the band themselves they were now in-fact unsigned.

But with the physical release of In-Rainbows being released by XL and the re-issues of Bends, Ok Computer and Pablo Honey on a double disc collectors eddition by EMI it would suggest that they are in someway linked to a record company and are therefore signed.

IMO either way it should deffinatly get the biggest draw of the weekend and IMO it really does make a welcome change to the metal/punk that they have put on, on the sunday nights in recent years.

Lets just hope there performance at Reading is on similar par to Vicky Park as compared to V.

They released physical CDs of In Rainbows from XL, ATO (US) and Hostess (Japan).

These record labels distribute and promote In Rainbows, but the band keep almost all rights which they can have. It can be said that technically Radiohead have signed to record companies, but the contracts are very unusual.

I was actually thinking this as well. I mean, they're not with XL per se, no record label would allow "their" (a phrase that should be used as loosely as possible) album to be available in the way In Rainbows was, without a cut from the online method. It was literally a physical distribution contract for the one record.

Also, aren't The Offspring unsigned now as well? Given that there's at least some chance of them being below Radiohead, that would make it two unsigned bands in a row finishing the festival.

Festival Republic, you cheapskates
