Iam surprised they've announced this before the tickets go on resale on sun. Its still goin to be a pretty big act playin under the boss.

It hasn't been "announced" .... someone totally in the know whispered it in our ears, and was happy for us to run the story to kill off the speculation.

The slot is, apparently, still to be filled - I get the impression that it's the only Pyramid slot still to be filled.

Oh right cool. I wonder if they already had a back-up plan just incase somethin like this happened. Oh well I suppose it keeps us all guessin for a bit longer.

From what we were told it sounds as tho a 'normal' act will now play in this slot rather than any back-up 4th headliner.

The good news is presumably the coldplay rumours can finally be put to bed.

Thank christ for that.

F#ck sake so in other words were stuck with 3 headliners aimed at old aged pensioners... yipee :|

Would it of killed glastonbury to book atleast 1 headliner us youngesters care about?

Or is Michael Eavis that out of touch that he classes Blur as a young band still?

Just read on the BBC Tony Christie is appearing now

Add him to the list with Rolf Harris, and Tom Jones

Pathetic.

I take it from what Neil is saying that it wasn't Coldplay, which was the obvious choice.

So it would be very interesting to know who it was - perhaps they had a last minute ego check and realised that they (whoever they are) should be properly headlining and not playing second fiddle to anyone (even if it is the Boss). Muse? Radiohead? Oasis? I'm sure it'll come out soon.

It'd be nice if Doves could be shunted from their JP headlining spot to this newly vacant one. It'd cure a major clash headache for me (with Neil Young apparently - booooo) and many others! Plus would be an ace warm up to the Boss.

Failing that then I'd vote for The White Stripes or maybe Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. Or maybe Elbow could be persuaded?
