One Small Question

How many bands are we expecting to be announced today?

First time i'll be running the gauntlet for tickets and wondering how much of the line-up i should be looking forward to.

they normally announce something like 30 in the first announcement, so I expect today to be something like that.

probably headliners plus 5 or 6 bands for mainstage and the evening session headliners(is it not called that anymore)

Last year I think it was on the mainstage split something like 10 / 7 / 6 then we had about 8 or 9 R1 tent bands.

Is it true that this is just because they are a band playing at another festival whom are contracted to not be allowed to reveal their name so the hype for them playing the one festival is not lost? And so only announced after that festival is over?

More or less yeah. There are lots of diffrent types of contracts for bands. The bigger bands will eather be on an exclusive contract which will stipulate that they cant play any other English festivals or they will be on a publicity embargo which means that they cant be announced for one festival till the other one is over or its the weekend of the festival.
