robith
Because they've got more bands who they've paid more money and they need to cover it. *nb I don't mean there are more acts at R/L, I mean they've paid more money to a greater number of them
Brizzle
Well that's just you, as an oh so enlightened glasto goer, Id assume that you'd realise all people are different and like different things

Benj
funnily enough, reading has corrupted me, so now i like starting fires and skinny jeans.

Brizzle
and rolling out dull, tired stereotypes it seems. The actual title/theme of the post is interesting, is one (either) overpriced in comparison to the other, I wonder what the cost per attendee is to the organisers of both? I suspect its pretty similar logisitics wise, perhaps a little more at Reading, as glasto can benefit from the economies of scale a bit more and doesn't have the complications of two sites to take into account. I have no idea though. As Robith suggests, I suspect Reading have to pay a lot more for their bill than Glasto though
crashnburn
i guess becasue reading and leeds are sponsered this means a huge cash injection for the festivals...proabably to pay for the big names but who knows...alas.
Kyelo
I would pay that for Leeds/Reading or T as long as the line-up was good. I pay that for Glastonbury for the experience, not the bands simple. The atmosphere at all festivals is brilliant, regardless of the ethos of the place. IRISHMANC
how much more do reading/leeds pay their artists anyway??? It should be at least double as its double the amount of work.

IRISHMANC
? Note: Buying a Reading ticket won't get you into the Leeds festival as well.
Brizzle
This is all based on conjecture, but a R/L headliner will get c.1,000,000. I heard the chilli peppers got double that. But it's all completely baseless Edited March 30, 2009 by Brizzle
robith
would you say thats for your average headliner who is doing the rounds at fests or for the exclusive ones? i wonder how much they paid rage....
jameshunt
i was refering to the artists. 2 gigs instead of one innit.
IRISHMANC
I imagine that's for exclusives - but aren't R/L all about exclusives? Rage got paid a (calm like a) bomb. At least a mill I rex.

IRISHMANC
Makes no difference to the ticket price as you're only paying to see them once.
