inspectedinspector
Sage Francis; I completely know what you mean, I'm not normally into that kind of music, but for me he's worthy of the use of my ears. Really intelligent and meaningful stuff right there

gormless69
what if punk never happened was origionally a poem. i saw itch do a spoken word bit when he was a support act for capdown. he just read it from a notebook. i suppose they tagged it on the end of the album to help emphasise their 'punk rules, one love, peace, hope and soul' etc etc message. all the negative points towards the king blues are good points but i reckon we can forgive the cockney voice as hes from hackney. i have seen them 13 times since they were first squeezed onto the lock up in 06, mainly in support of other bands i happen to be seeing, and they never fail to impress. deadrobot
I think I heard them on radio 1 yesterday, or it might have been a band with a similar name, it sounds like indie p!sh to me tho. Same band?
moss265
It seems so strange hearing about this band receiving "hype" and people wondering whether they deserve it....they've been playing dirty 100-capacity gigs for years. Been a huge fan for ages. Seem to remember at Capdown's last festival gig at Leeds 2006 they mentioned King Blues as the band to fly the flag for modern punk. Anyone who calls it indie p*** needs to give them a chance, check a few more of their songs at least. Out of interest which songs have made it "big" on the radio? Salt_On_Everything
well i must admit they were alright, the 3 songs i saw of them! we got there at half nine due to my mate's work finishing time, caught one song and the encore! what the hell kinda time is before 10pm for a headline band to finish?! they played that 'boulder' song and he did indeed do that 'what if punk never happened' on his own as a poem, no music. it was good, but i'd have preferred it with the music. and i couldn't help but think of rik mayall 'people's poet' in the young ones! but he did kick off on someone in thje crowd during it which was amusing! alright night, but only seeing 3 songs and £3.10 for a carling somewhat diminished the experience!
