I've heard of them but never heard them.

just been looking into them and checking out some songs and i really like what I've found so far some of their stuff is very orchestral, grandiose atmospheric and sounds as if it would be awesome performed live and am now wondering why i have not checked them out sooner.

I'm rather partial to heavy rock/metal and appreciate the chance to perhaps check these guys out, it's good to see the line up getting even more diverse and taking in some of the more overlooked and naively and narrow mindedly ridiculed genres.

it seems they were pioneers in what is now labelled industrial rock/metal and have a huge amount of impressive acts who have cited them as influences such as Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Metallica, Primus, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Faith No More and Korn.

take this thread for example instead of looking up and checking out the band and their work you just get the cliche responses from people it's so predictable and tiresome.

all that "who?" nonsense as if if those people have not heard of them they're not worth listening to or something and then taking one persons daft response as to what the band are like as gospel and judging acordingly

personally i just love music full stop and i take interest in all manner of musical styling and genres and i find there's good, bad and mediocre in every one.

i love moments like this when something is brought to my attention and it opens my eyes to a new band or genre thanks to the iow festival i may just have found another band i like and that's never a bad thing.

love it or hate it you must admit getting such a band on the line up is very impressive and unexpected and also good to see they are opening up their doors to such acts in the hope some festival goers will be fans and others may open their mind a bit and discover they like such a band.

well if they are playing at 8pm it seems they will clash with either simple minds or pigeon detectives so i will definitely be checking them out then heading for the main stage for Pixies and back to the big top for The Charlatans.

but i doubt it will pan out that way come the day

it's things like this that make me love festivals though as i get to check out bands i would otherwise not go see.

there's nothing i love more than going along to see someone I've not seen before or even someone who i am not into as it's not my thing and just leaving my preconceived thoughts at the door and seeing what they are like.

I've discovered i like quite a few acts that way (and also found out my hesitance was justified a few times as well to be fair)

like them or not to me it is intriguing to have such a highly respected band on low on the bill tucked away in the big top I'm gonna go check them out and see what all the fuss is about and hopefully will be pleasantly surprised.

i absolutely loved NERD and they were one of my highlights last year i just love how Pharrell Williams can get a crowd going but i totally get what you mean, i got bored with The Police and went and saw New Young Pony Club who were excellent!

and i love the duke spirit they're one of those highly respected yet oddly overlooked and virtually unheard of british bands.
