angelheaded hipster
Oh wow, you made the best decision of your life This thread is undoubtedly going to be over-run with gushing about the greatness of Glasto, but that is because everyone, myself included, has so much to gush about. To put it simply, and in its most annoying format - it's indescribable. You will experience everything - from major artists on the iconic Pyramid Stage to unknown festie-goers in the tiniest of tents playing something new and beautiful... From huge planned circus performances to inpromptu displays of madness... From major talks on politics and our collective future to random late night discussions around the Stone Circle... The advice is to be open to anything and everything - wander into tents no matter the size just to see what is happening, initiate conversations with the person camped/sat/stood next to you, and if they look at you strangely (which even at Glasto, is unfortunately possible) shrug them off as nervous first-timers and continue as you were - just walk, take it all in, converse and enjoy - and you'll have an experience that'll keep you coming back year after year. Come to the Wednesday night and/or Thursday night efest meets at the Cider Bus to hear all of our stories about how awesome the festival is and how much we love it, and to make friends you'll wish you could spend the whole year with. Welcome to the festival!

Scott Martin 88
I have to say that im extremely disappointed in these boards this year Last year was my first glasto and i first joined these boards in March. For me, spending every single day reading every single post and reading all of the positivity (apart from the Jay-Z debate) was what got me most excited. Unfortunately, none of that seems to be here this year which is a real shame. If this year was my first and i was reading these boards i have to say that id probably be a little put off..... But finally a little bit of positivity and excitement in this thread (though i haven't read every post yet so i may have just made myself look very silly! )

Yorkshire Chomper
Good thread with a few pointless posts (jameshunt) Glastonbury is best weekend of the year. I've done quite few festivals and nothing takes over my life as this one. For me its a 12 month festival - from leaving the last one to getting tickets to getting stuff together to getting there. A superb experience ...

whatmidlifecrisis?
Don't mention it mate. I think I sometimes have to stop myself from being so over enthusiastic about the place, it annoys the hell out of my mates. Cheers, BlackHole2006
