Best time to get there?

What time is best to get to reading?

Do the camp sites fill up quickly?

Well im presuming you havent got the early bird, so i'd say about 6 - 7 am on the thursday morning.

by about 12 on the thursday things start to get tight an there isnt much room left, maybe in the far camps like white and the backs of purple and orange, but not many options in green and yellow.

I usually get there for about 6am on Thursday. Gates aren't technically open but they will let you in early! We've never had a problem setting up camp, we usually have about 8 tents in our group. Pretty sure if we got there much later tho we would have had an un-ideal spot.

So much for me going to turn up later lol. If i do turn up and every where is full and I have to go to white camp, Is there a charge for the shuttle boat thing?

6am, that's pretty dedicated. are there still thousands of people there at that time? is it still a bumfight?

Saying that, we got there at about 5 or 6pm on thursday last year and managed to get a decent spot in yellow, albeit next to a path. Am annoyed about only being early entry for coaches this year.

Bloody hell. 6am is pretty early. Do most people head up on Wednesday night and camp out in surrounding fields/hotels/b&b or head up Thursday morning?

Reason is two of my mates are driving with all our stuff in the back/boot & the rest of us are having to rely on public transport from central London.

Trains are on all the time from Paddington. Really takes about half an hour. You should be fine i guess. I'm new to Reading this year as well but living nearby and travelling to London almost every day i know you should be ok.

Tuesday night. I have an early pass and I hit Pavolov's dog (great bar, last year did discount drinks for all festival ticket holders, along with free phone charging provided the customer brought something there) at about 2pm, start drinking, leave around 8pm, wander down to the que, sit myself down, chill out with the mates overnight and get a cracking spot the next day. Without an early pass, I'd say wednesday evening.
