Why are the V organisers so lazy?

As long as they are good ones I don't really mind them taking their time, it'd be a shame if they had a deadline to meet and so missed out on booking certain acts just to make an announcement before end of April.

But if they come out in June and say they have no decent acts I think next years V will be skipped by quite a few people and some punters will feel agreived.

Personally whatever the announcements are / when they come I've got my ticket (Early Bird), booked the time off work and planned my summer around it and a few other festivals and gigs so it doesn't really change much. It's more next years event planning it affects, which sounds weird.

I'm not making excuses for V but when we buy a ticket many months before some or even any acts are announced we can't moan too much if they aren't the spanking line-ups our fantasy fest would of been - after all we don't complain to Camelot because our lotto numbers don't come up. If it's a crap line-up I'll spend more time talking to friends, seeing some unknowns, chilling in the hippy village and not bother next year unless its something special.

This is my first V, so i cant really comment on thier Lazy ways, but they do seem to be taking thier time. However, having Elbow playing is a master stroke. Even if there isnt any other major Announcements i honestly think they will be the best act all weekend..somthing special about those chaps..
