35,000 tickets on sale today

after trying to get 2 tix for couple of pals and failing(bloody verify by visa

security thing kept crashing)i rang see tickets to make sure they hadn't gone thru.

Happened to ask the guy on phone out of interest how many were on sale

and he said in the region of 35k.Didnt tell my mates how many like but surely he

must be wrong

I can believe it, just seen something from Glasto saying that it took a couple of hours to sell out so I reckon there was a fair few tickets available

i did say this but evestivals said i was dreaming. I think he may have been wrong on this account.

when i spoke to the guy at see last week they were still processing refunds and had been for months.

he said that i should have no problems getting tickets cause there were going to be enough in the resale.

as i have said before and hope people will trust me there is a good chance that there will be a resale after may 8th. This is because you can cancel your ticket up untill then. Not saying its for deffo but i would say there is a strong chance that week or the following a few thousand on sale. Hope this helps the ticketless

That would mean a 25% cancellation rate over just two months - never heard of that level of cancellations for any event.

I don't think all 135,000 tickets were ever originally sold. I reckon they pulled the plug on sales when they hit the 100,000 mark leaving 30 odd thousand for today.

I think your right but efestivals would disagree. He claims to know everything but sometimes he does get it wrong and i hope he can swallow his pride and accept maybe there were alot more tickets on sale than he first thought

I know about 15 ticket holders, zero cancellations.

How many people do you know had tickets, and how many of those cancelled?

if there was 35000 tickets i cant imagine they were all returns, there must have been some left over before? 35000 returns seams a little bit much?

yeah, I can't believe there were that many cancellations, just thing there were a lot left unsold.

5000 tickets wouldn't take a couple of hours to sell out, I'm confident of that.

anyway, it doesn't matter, i suspect only a few people really know, and personally, I'm not that fussed by it at all. The system worked well this year, overall, I like the deposit idea, I like the fact that you can buy your ticket before the lineup and all that. I think it means you get the right people going.

I think this sounds right. I was always pretty sceptical about 5,000 figures being banded around. The 'sold out' thing was just spin, it would seem.

If the time taken to sell out is linear to the number of sales, then - going by 2007 - there were about 150,000 tickets on sale this morning then.
