anyone know if it's still possible to work for your ticket?

Ok, more like 2 months ago, but this is the reply I received.

I think I'll prob go for the 2nd option, which allows me to not worry about work or time or mind for 5 days, but still help out afterwards. Don't know if the 1st option is still available though, the kind lady's reply to me took about 3 days.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your email and wanting to be part of the clear up. There are two alternatives:

1) You can get a refund on your ticket, then apply to me now to be a litter picker after the festival (Tuesday 30th June - Thursday 2nd July, 8 hour shift each day).

You have to pay £170 up front for your workers pass, but you will get this refunded once you complete all your shifts (ie. you are working for your ticket). Further details will be supplied if you are interested.

2) You can keep your ticket and just work on the clean up team, details as follows:

You need to register for work at Goose Hall at 7am on either Tuesday 30th June or Wednesday 1st July and ask for Rob Kearle

You work from 8am-5pm with an hour off for lunch

You get paid £6.00 per hour

You camp on-site (bring your own tent/van)

You get 3 free meals a day

The work usually lasts for at least a month but you can do as long as you like

There are personal and clothes washing facilities available

This is paid work and does not entitle you to a ticket to the festival itself.

If you have any further queries please let me know.

Cheers

Fiona

try calling up see tickets - i managed to get a ticket on my third try today. Don't take no for an answer - just keep trying over the next few weeks, im sure its a case of calling at the right time and speaking to the right person. Out of the 3 people I spoke to today one guy said that there would definitely not be any tickets sold on the phones and low and behold 20 mins later i called and got through to someone else who sold me a ticket!

Good Luck :(

I've got my ticket. But has anyone ever done the above, working there after the festival for a month or so? What is it like? Is it working 5 or 7 days per week? Is there much to do in the evenings after work, other than just staying by/in your tents? If you're not working weekends, then the weekends must be really boring.

I gather from the above registration for this work opens at 7am on either Tuesday 30th June or Wednesday 1st July. So you can just turn up on this day and be accepted to work? Thing is doesn't all non crew workers have to be off the site by the Monday evening? So you'd have to go home and come back on the Tuesday or Wednesday and tell the gate staff you're interested in working?

I can only give some vague answers... You can stay Monday night. You'll need to find somewhere good to camp. My suggestion would be to go to Undle Ground and find someone staying over, explain why you want to camp there / with them.

Work will be either 5 or 6 days a week, but 7 v.unlikely. I suspect that if you make friends, you'll find things to do on days off.

i worked after the festival, but it as a long time ago, stayed on for a couple of weeks afterwards, we all moved our tents and that down to near goose hall (?). Worked 6 days a week, I think, although can't rightly remember, but it was good fun, and someone would do a run into town and bring back beers and stuff. This was when the festival was much much smaller though, don't know how it operates now.
