The officer involved has now been identified and suspended.

But here is the question in both the Tomlinson video and this one, other police officers watch on without batting an eyelid. It is almost expected and certainly accepted.

The problem is this raises the anger of a volatile crowd. It is the opposite of good policing. But for the death of Mr Tomlinson most people would not see this side to the way the police act with less well connected demonstrations. They dare not do this to big unions but they get away with it with the smaller movements and football fans.

Police are the murderers! DEMO Downing St, London.

6th November 2010. RT's Laura Emmett reports from London on a demonstration and protest against deaths after "restraint" in police custody. In the UK, one person a week is dying as a result of contact with the police and there have been no prosecutions for murder or manslaughter.

Deaths in police custody spark outrage over police brutality.

Police who kill should be prosecuted!

Justice for Habib 'Paps' Ullah says Zia Ullah, victim's brother.

Justice for Sean Rigg says Samantha Rigg-David, victim's sister.

Justice for -

Roger Sylvester,

Sarah Campbell,

Ricky Bishop,

Jason Thompson,

Azelle Rodney,

Ian Tomlinson.

Who are the murderers? Police!

Campaigners in the UK demand convictions for police officers responsible for deaths in custody.

Ken Ferrow. United Families and Friends Campaign.

Human rights abuses.

No justice. No peace.

Not saying it was necessary nor acceptable, but it was very unlucky that the push resulted in death.

If this incident was just a one-off and he's normally a good policeman, I have a small amount of sympathy for the officer.

It wasn't a one-off. Just 15 minutes before he'd dragged a BBC cameraman to the ground for no reason at all (he didn't even speak to the cameraman after dragging him down).
