Young Lover
ok, starting with the most certain, Dizzee Rascal was reported to be playing the Pyramid Stage in the Metro a few months back, but the story went cold. Seems now that he has self-confirmed on Radio 1 (according to http://www.gorge.org/glastonbury/lineup.shtml ). The Gorge also report that Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest fame) has self-confirmed on Radio 1. This sounds like the kind of hip-hop booking that really belongs at Glastonbury. Good news. KingKolo
Saw them [black Kids] last year. They were OK live in my opinion, but not amazing. I was really looking forward to that set, so maybe I built them up too much in my own (stupid) mind! If they played again this year I would probably still go, but I wouldn't be that bothered. hombrederayo
Id love to see q-tip at glasto. thats the best line up related news Ive seen so far personally. more quality hip hop at glasto please mr. eavis! MartinGooding
Q Tip would be awesome, A Tribe Called Quest would make my year tho, good shout on the Roots, also Talib Kweli and Mos Def would be good
Wiggum
I think Black Kids have got to be up there with the ting tings as one of the worst bands of the last 5 years.

grandadcollective
I'm hoping Hip Hop has a place at this years festival and a few old stagers like last years Kool Keith and Kutmaster Kurt would be fine by me. Hell, get Public Enemy in!
BlackHole2006
The Black Kids album is actually brilliant, but when I saw them at glasto it was one of the most underwhelming performances I have ever seen, and they were obviously very nervous. I'm still getting over the fact that I took myself away from Seasick Steve to go see these guys. Cheers, BlackHole2006
pedmills
Isnt the gorge fairly unreliable, they still have the Kaiser Chiefs down as confirmed and i thought that the prospect of them playing Glasto died about a month ago
robith
Did anyone see Pitchfork's original review (before I'm sure their reord label insisted on a proper review) of Black Kids' album? It was 0.0/10, with a picture of a pug with "Sorry!" written on it

Mardy
My favourite pitchfork review is their other only 0.0, Jet's second album. The review was merely a picture of a chimp pissing into it's own mouth.
robith
hahaha, that's made my day. Up there with 'shit sandwich'. Superb.
Wm.!
Booyakasha! Love to see Q-tip. Jazz World performance would be great! Love his relaxed flow and the smooth hiphop. Makes me happy!

ukdannyb
Great news, just so happens I was randomly speculating that Q-Tip could be there a couple of days ago! Smoothest voice in hip hop.

I think it's the case that gilles peterson mentioned on his show on radio 1 this week that q-tip is playing glastonbury.

Straight Through
excellent news about dizzee, was listening to "showtime" in the car yesterday thinking about a glasto performance q-tip and the roots would be very nice indeed Edited April 9, 2009 by Straight Through
Young Lover
ok, so more speculation based on this: http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=13364 now as we know, Common has worked with Glasto regular Lily Allen before, and the mention of Kanye West adds to the intrigue! Are we looking at a Glasto bill including Q-Tip, Common, and Kanye West!? Is our faith in Glastonbury being rewarded!?!? Is it indeed the case that this year's festival will be just as f**king brilliant as ever, and that the naysayers are really going to be eating big slices of pie flavoured with chunks of woe-basted humility? I have a theory that Glasto 2009 is going to be the year of the Jazzworld stage. Engulfed in a haze of green jazzy smoke. Marvellous. (Bonkers.)
