I keep getting a message when trying to reply to a PM of

"Error

You cannot send a PM until 10:29 on 09 Apr 09"

I'm confused?

eFestivals suffered an attack by a spambot last week, and yesterday we picked up on another spambot which had joined the forums but hadn't got around to doing its thing as yet (so we obviously took actions to block it).

These spambots are now attacking forums in a different way, and rather than make posts which gets spotted and then deleted quite quickly, they're now trying to send their spam via PMs.

To combat these attacks, a patch has just been released for these forums which limits the number of PMs that any user can send in a specific timeframe.

The default setting for this new feature is a limit to users of sending one PM every five minutes. For the moment at least, we're going to stick to this default setting.

If you (or anyone) receives a PM which looks like spam, please report it via PM to me, or via email to webmaster@efestivals.co.uk.
