glastoman417
I saw three bands at the JP tent and the sound was awful for all of them. Plus it seems that they put too bigger acts on for such a small tent?
G1T
I found the same in the dance tent for Reprazent last year, they came on, and i really thought i must have gone deaf. Turns out it was just really quiet. Same happened for Iration Steppas a few years back, where they pointed out that their own rig would have been louder than the festival one. That's more to do with them though really... Did see something online about a campaign to get rid of noise limiters at festivals, which could be what are causing it. Came up at Glade IIRC, that the whole festival has a collective noise limit across all the stages combined that it has to stay below at all times, so some stages are quietened when others are made louder. Can't find anything about it with a quick google, but sure there was lots of talk of it last summer.
Onus
I saw the MGMT performances at the Park and at the JP stage last year. In my (very humble, but rather lovely) opinion, the JP one micturated on the Park performance. I utterly agree with everything that's been said with regards to the sound, but the atmosphere at the JP for MGMT was, IMO, in a different league. I did walk down from the Park stage singing "Kids" in a magical mass chanting moment, but the Park performance was more of a sit down with a glass of wine deal. The JP recital was a beautifully moving mass of jumping, screaming hormones (from the crowd anyhow). Perhaps this is all moot or merely a case of "horses for courses". P.S. The sound on the JP stage is sh1t - sort it out please .

Fearless_Fish
Aye, I caught Yeasayer and Stars on the JP stage last year, thought I'd found two little gems that would put on a great show, but the sound was really poor :-( Stars in particular sounded really distorted and muffled. TheSeventhOne
Shit sound in a tent is inexcusable. Get it sorted.
The Dawg
I agree totally. The sound in this tent has steadily got worse over the past few years. Last year Patrick Watson was struggling with the sound and only ended up playing for 15 mins. Gutted. Also went to see The Cribs and we were so dissapointed with the sound we cleared off.
