Yet to have a really good experience in the Acoustic tent. Catalogue of failures include:

1995 - Nowhere near for Portishead

2004 - Fell asleep to Tindersticks (Plenty of space)

2007 - Sat against band railings whilst Liz Green played, and chatted away to mate nonchalantly :P

2008 - Forgot about it during obsession with Avalon stage.

Avalon and it's cafe is great though. See all there for at least Dodgy this year.

Acoustic Stage is without doubt the most consistent stage at GB (I've enjoyed it for 23 yrs!).

However no one has mentioned the highlight of this wonderful venue - The Be Good Tanyas, followed by the legendary Richie Havens. A STUNNING afternoon. RH was the best artist I had witnessed at GB until last year, but was finally knocked off the #1 spot by...

LC!

In my 3 Glastonbury's the most enjoyable show I've seen each year has always been at the Avalon tent.

2005 - Peatbog Faeries

2007 - Cat Empire

2008 - Kissmet

All bands that I had never heard of before seeing them, and whose recorded material I have subsequently found to be a bit lacking, but live and with the Avalon stage and Avalon crowd something magic always seems to happen.

two of my fave places....acoustic field can be a lovely idyllic picnic area in the sun, yes the upwards thing annoys me too and it should point another way...avalon is great but small, really good atmosphere for headliners the proclaimers last year while jay z was on
