I'm getting picked up in Glasgow on the Tuesday and we are staying in a hotel near Bristol then driving in clean and refreshed to Glastonbury on the Wednesday morning. Works much better than the over night way.

Won't take you 8 hours. We did it in 2007 and left Glasgow at 11pm and were down at Street (next town to Glastonbury) at 5am.

Agreed, we travelled down last year on the Tuesday morning and camped in Glastonbury. Left here around 7.30am and got there at 3pm and that was stopping at a Cider Farm

This year we are going down the Saturday and spending 2 nights camping near Avebury for the Summer Solstice and then 2 nights in Glastonbury again

Travelling overnight is fine, quiet roads etc but honestly it knackered us for the Wednesday so won't be doing that again!

in 07 we got the "rainbow bus" down, left around midnight from the QMU and arriving about 8 or 9 sounds right, but i cant remember exactly, doing the same again this year,

decided to leave the motor, couldnt bear the thought of tryin to get it out of mud/busy car park then drive aw the way back up after a good festivals worth of party, a sleep on a coach with a brief wake up for a burger king at manchester does me fine

considering going overnight as well - but got days off so going to travel down Tuesday day and stay with a Friend in West London.

Hope to leave v early on the Wed as clearly traffic coming from London will be heavier.

Prob going to sit in traffic for a lot longer, but at least we'll get a bed and shower on the Tuesday night, wed morning. And hopefully a few scoops in London.

just managed to wangle the tuesday off so I reckon I'll drive down Tuesday afternoon and stay with my mate who lives in Bristol

will be nice having a bed, shower then a wee hours drive to Glasto
