Golden circle

I cant see how but, please tell me that haven't got some way of having the 'golden circle' at V.

Does anyone else find the concept of the 'golden circle' as offensive to music goers as I do, and shame on any artist who permits this traversty at their gigs. An insult to all real fans of music. :P

Rant done!

Glad to hear there's not going to be one. Last couple of big shows I've been to had them and it made me MAD! Usually full of sponsoring company exec's who stand around shouting into their i-phones complaining that the musics too loud.

First time to V and I know Mr Branson knows how to charge (£10 program I hear!), so was just wondering if there was going to be a special place for those with big wallets.

I don't think that the Golden Circle is necessarily a bad thing in the really big arenas. At the end of the day it is meant to minimise the crush you get at the front. But I also think it is wrong to charge extra for it.

I went to see Green Day a few years back at Milton Keynes Bowl and it was first in gets a wristband and that was it. No extra fee, just a bonus for people who made the effort to arrive early! Meant we could go for food, drink and loo breaks without having to fight our way back to our place! And best thing, we had loads of room to jump about and be silly together without thousands of people trying to get past you!!

lets face it a golden circle isnt (usually) used to make money, its to minimise potential casualties. its not essential for v as the crowd isnt as "up for it" as other festivals infact im (and im sure many of you) are happy having a bit more space further back to have a bit more of a dance. arent most crowd divisions put in place in the presence of a line up of heavier bands (or at a bands request (im sure pearl jam requested a division at reading/leeds)) where the crowd may surge crushing people at the front.

ive been in some crowds where ive actually feared for my own safety, so i actually agree with golden circles (that dont charge extra)

Reading has a crush barrier with open sides, which works excellently, anyone can get it in and out, stops massive surges from the back.

As someone says, there's no really need at V, as its a different crowd
