Went by car last year and it was ok, but this year im takin my bf and we are going by national express.

Does anyone know if this is a good way to start it all off or is it rubbish? Im hoping there will be a good atmosphere and everyone buzzing with excitment on the bus, hell, maybe a sing song...........

Im also happy with the fact that its greener and no worrying about getting mullered on the sunday night. :D

I was also wondering if there are any funny stories or warnings about getting there? Cheers. xx

I've got the national express two years in a a row, its alright on the way back, but getting there has been a nightmare - we've travelled from Middlesbrough and got the night bus to london, then changed for a Glasto bus in Victoria. No fun allowed on such a journey, in fact we got told off for laughing!

Where you going from? How many of you are there? This year we're hiring a bus with driver, and theres about 18 of us going and it works out about a tenner cheaper than the NE too!

national express should be ok I guess, but avoid seetickets coaches like the plague.

they may be better now, but in 2007, it was a nightmare!

waited about 6 hours to do a 30min journey to Bath.

so glad i didnt book seetickets coaches then!!! national express were fairly cheap tho, bout £60 for two people, return to swansea.

If i knew more people going, maybe i could have organised a mini bus or something, but due to the lineup and stuff not being announced sooner, people have chickened out and decided on other festivals...........for me it was glasto all the way!!!!

departing swansea bus station 07:00---- arriving bristol marlborough st station 09:50

departing bristol marlborough st station 10:30--------arriving glasto fest, coach park 12:10

so round 5 hours? yawn, much quicker by car but never mind.

I went by national express a few years back from Middlesborough. It was fine arrived by two on the wednesday. Bus driver was nice and didnt have to wait too long at pick up points.

I plan to go on the coach again this year from Leeds.

It is much easier getting to the site by coach as they have priority. Plus you get to meet some new people and its usually a good atmosphere.

we went on the National Express From Heathrow, last couple of times, and it is absolutley fine, they have been a bit quiet, no singing or anything, but last year we were with a group of newbies, and there excitment got us even more pumped for it, cresting the hill on the twisty roads, and seeing the tents

I think ur allowed two suitcases per person.....so im takin an old suitcase thing on wheels with a long handle to put two crates in, once the crates are done, in the bin with the suitcase. Its on its last legs anyway and if its gonna go out, its goin out with style!

Ive got a backpack for the rest of my stuff, but im scared incase they are funny bout crates on the bus so its hiding in the suitcase!

Me and the GF took the coaches a couple of years ago (and from swansea funnily enough- hello fellow jacks ), was alright too. They will allow you to take a few cans on with you but crates/bags/tents etc will be kept below.

We got picked up at 7ish, stopped in Brizzle and get to the Site at 1ish, the main problem is waiting to put everyones shit on the bottom of the bus. Good laugh tho, met some cool people there and some that i know before but didnt know they were going.

If transport is a problem, id deffinately reccomend it, you park up right next to the good camping spots too, saved us a trek.

THhe one problem we had is getting the return journey, think it was at 6am on the monday, not a nice time to wake up, think only 3 of our eventual group of 15ish got the return, the rest had to make their own way back, they regretted the lay in :P

Edit Btw... join the facegroup page Swansea Glastonbury Goers that ive set up, loads of our mates on there, you may be/know some of them peeeeeeeeeeace!
