boshca
Due to a pointless science exam, the only train I was able to book arrives at castle cary at 16:40. I thought it would be a good idea to go on wednesday, as usually I've arrived on thursday or friday by train, with friends with cars already having pitched my tent for me, and it does seem that camping spaces are definetley running low on thursday. This year, I'm pitching my own tent, but am a bit worried that with having to wait for the shuttle bus ect, it might get dark or good spots might be going quick. I was thinking of camping near the park, somewhere a bit quieter and out of the way. Do you think I'll be alright? Thanks for your help x
r0cky
There's loads of lights at Glastonbury, and being mid-summer, doesn't get dark until quite late. But I'd pack a headtorch, great for handsfree work when it's dark. I got a cheap LED headtorch from Aldi, batteries last for ages; generally last me through many festivals. If you've just one tent, I'm sure you won't have any problem fitting in somewhere around The Park. I had to arrive v.early Thursday AM one year. What I did, was dump my bags in a Lock-Up, and wandered around with just my tent. Found a great spot, put up the tent, then went back to the Lock-Up to get my stuff. Laura_Babs
If you want to camp actually with your friends, I'd ask them to take it with them for you just to make sure you get a spot with them. Otherwise I'm sure you will get a space somewhere near the Park. We camped there last year and there was still space on Wednesday evening, especially if it is just the odd tent rather than a group of tents.
