The Wine Bar

there's half a dozen 'wine bars' around the site, they usually have a huge inflatable wine bottle on the top and a pumping sound system

brothers stopped selling 2litre bottles in 2007 due to the sea of empty bottles in the jazzworld field and also the fact that people were getting gloriously smashed on the festival strength cider

Yep, there's a few of The Wine Bars dotted around the site, the guys go to a few festivals and it's nice seeing them. I believe there is also some other wine places, possibly even an organic wine stall, I've never tried them though.

Prices weren't too bad, but it's still cheaper to bring your own wine boxes. I did know the prices, but I've forgotten!

They play music and do requests! At The Glade Festival is nice to hear some non-dance music for a short respite!

Taken from the Feel good glastonbury clips thread

The Pennard Organic Vineyard have a stall which is located on the left hand side of the path between the Greenpeace area and Avalon (turn left at the Tiny Tea Tent towards Avalon and it's a few stalls along. They make all of their wine from fruit grown on their farm in West Pennard, and make the majority of their profits from the festival, so they're a local firm worth supporting. And the wine gets you really pissed LOL!

Yay!

Don't be surprised when you get there. Our tent is one of the least adventurous displays on site. Think village fete with less morris dancers. There's not much in the way of music - no gabba/trance/techno in our tent. This doesn't matter though because fans of gabba, trance and techno are generally far too busy to visit our tent sadly. The plus side is that this often means you've got a place where you can sit down. The downside is that this also often leads to not being able to stand up.

Hugh Tripp grows the grapes and makes the wine just down the road from the festival. It's very low food miles - roughly about two and a bit. Often he does mead, and usually wine from other sorts of fruit. If you've visited recently you'll recognise me as the one who spends most of the week completely steaming. I'll testify on oath that organic wine does not give you a hangover. I don't know about organic beer but I wouldn't be surprised if the same is true. Somebody did come back once to disagree with me on the hangover point but I suspect they'd also been on the lager or alcopops or that Babycham stuff from the Brothers. I'm sticking to my guns.

I know this sounds like an advert, especially as I've only posted twice in the last two years, but I don't care; I've really loved working there. If you come, ask for Jason and I'll give you a wee snifter or two to try. And a hug.

Pinky swear.
