Oldest wristband

My reason is that I travelled half way across the world to visit these festivals and I'm gonna damn right get my money's worth! Heh I just enjoy wearing the wristbands as it reminds me when I look at my bank account and see a major deficit.... .... that I know all of these things don't matter since I have done what I have enjoyed year after year and the sacrifices are worth it.....

Dont get me wrong, if thats what you want to do thats cool. But I have never understood this argument. If I'm having a bad day, and need to cheer myself up, I just remember the good times. I dont need to be wearing the wristband to access those memories....??

Just my opinion.

I tend to find people who say this, and usually follow it up with "Just my opinion" tend to be more forceful with their opinions, which are usually negative and baseless. Some people like to wear their wristbands. Some people like to get tattoos. Some people like shit that others don't like, but I find it's the ones that oppose it to be much more vocal than the ones that do it themselves, even if they struggle to have a valid reason to oppose it.

That made me laugh!

It's mainly the fact that they get all rat tailed and yukky that I don't like, I don't wear jewellery at all though, I just can't be doing with it, and it always breaks/gets caught in stuff/scratches/jangles or generally pisses me off.

Like when you see people with armfuls of bangles or Mr T style necklaces, I don't know how they can do it. But each to his own, as the above person stated.

Ermm, third reason why people wear wristbands - they suffer from ten second amnesia like the guy in '50 First Dates'?

They go to get scissors to cut it off and forget what they are doing.

I wear my wristband..because i like wearing it! ( shock shock horror )

its not tatty, it doesnt smell and doesnt cause me any problems.

seriously people, get a grip, there are more important things in this world to worry about.

I guess keeping the wristbands on does seem a bit pretentious and 'knobbish'. I don't wear any jewellery though so these and a wee friendship bracelet make up my jewellery. If that excuse isn't good enough then....i'm allowed 1 knobbish trait.

Ok - this is just stupid.

All I wanted to say was that I think wearing the wristband comes across as being a bit attention seeking - which I think is a fair enough opinion to have.

If my posts came across as twatish, or full of spite, then I apologise, as that was not the meaning behind my original post. And I certainly wasnt looking for a big argument over it.

Stagerlee and Krunchy, please accept my opology, and lets look forward to a good festival.

I don't have my 2008 wristband on because I founed it annoying when I was sleeping.

However I do still have the 2008 glasto guide intact hanging on my door, every so often I take it off my door and have a look at it and remember the acts I saw. I also have the 2008 programme aswell

Cheers,

Josie's Cat you obviously have some kind of dirt/ cleanliness related OCD!! :P

I would love to be wearing all my wristbands- well the material ones- since I started going. Not to 'seek attention' but because they trigger happy memories and yes can provide a conversation starter. As it goes, in order to appear relatively 'normal' at work I only have on the last two years.

NB: Agreed. Only a fool gets their right hand banded!

I always have them on myleft arm- for reasons stated, and then chop the dangly bits shorter and then singe them with a lighter... hence no fraying.
