i'd still like to know who the fourth headliner was. Neil said he knew but wouldn't say cus it wouldn't be fair to them.

I'd like to see white stripes, but doubt they'd want to play before the boss.

omg omg omg

if this slot goes to The Flaming Lips, I will actually poo my pants with delight and joy. They perfectly fit my two critera for a pre-Springsteen slot:

a) I absolutely adore them and everything at they do

:D a lot of people who go and see them (unlike me) will not be Springsteen fans - thereofre I think a lot of Lips fans will leave after their set. Easy to push to the front during the change-over!!!!!

However, have we not wondered in the past whether the headliner has a choice of the person who gos beneath him/her (for example, McCartney choosing the Black Eyed Peas a few years ago.) Bruce likes the racde Fire - he guested at one of their shows once, and sung "Border Patrol" with them. However, what makes us think that Arcade Fire are even playing shows this summer......????/

The Dead? Currently on tour in the States through April/May and with a later festival appearance in July.

Eavis is a big fan of the Dead, OK so no Jerry but still a great live band. Checkout one of their latest shows here;

Cheers and fingers crossed :D

SPOT ON! I didnt put these 2 things together but you are 100% correct i reckon! Well done.

My choice would be Dave Matthews Band, but unfortunately they're not big enough in the UK.....i will never know how this is the case....one of the UK music industry mysteries!

I don't think it was, Neil said that it was because of unfortunate circumstances that forced the band to pull out and it wasn't the bands fault, and that is why he didn't want to tell us who it was.

I don't think 'not liking the line-up' counts as an unfortunate circumstance that forced them to pull out.

I don't think they're big enough.

However if the two were to play in a row, I would a weeping wreck standing in a pile of my own spaff with an arm having fallen off from punching the air for 4 hours
