Dance Village

Please feel free to merge this if you want with the other thread if you want, but i have a few questions

I have been through the village, usually on my way to other places, and have had a look in to see things, but when ive been going past there isnt much going on, (daytime/evenening), now i figure me and MRS chazeboy will see a few different bands this year, so when she is watching someone i may tootle along to the DV, but my questions are what is the difference in the tents West/East Pussy Parlour etc...

how busy do they get through the whole day, or is it a strictly night time thing?

and lastly, i used to fanny about Djing when i was younger, and i liked thumping stuff, from Hard house to techno to Bouncy hardcore to happy hardcore, out of the list of rumors, who on there would be good for me to check out, (i havent followed "the scene" for a long time, and the only folk i know may be going is 2many dj's)

Thanks

Chaz

This thread seems to give an account of last year's get up /index.php?showtopic=104527">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...howtopic=104527

TBH if you like your music thumping I suspect you might be disappointed. I think most of the dance at Glasto is fairly limp wristed, all breaks and progressive electro stuff. I think if you like harder stuff you might be standing there going "aaaghhhh! Make it go faster! FAAAAAAASSSSSTER!!!"

Infected Mushroom might play some ok psy trance perhaps. I would love to be proven wrong re the pussiness of the dance music at Glasto, but I don't think I will be.

Hi !

All you can do is check it out !

TBH I always get the East and West mixed up at the start of the festival !

Both tents do qet live bands , its not just DJ's !!! !

I have to admit they do not always get full. Myself and some mates were in one of the tents having

a dance when the thunderstorms of 2007 hit. I expected the tents to get full with sheltering festies

but it did not. But I have friends who will not even walk past the DV for fear of being dragged into

the debauchery of dance music !

Like others have said, electronic music with a bit of meat to it is few and far between, but you do get the odd act. Last year derrick may was pretty good, and system 7 (I think) in the glade on sunday was pretty bangin. I found that titled disco in trash city was banging the techno out in the wee hours the few times I wandered in their last year.
