Icewulf
That would be a shocking turn of events Now the rumours will start flying once more...
BlackHole2006
Nope, they are definately headlining other stage. That is a mistake on their behalf. Neil, I thought you emailed them saying that they have made an error, and the man behind the website changed it? In other news however, it looks like Cameron Diaz will be hanging with the punters! Not that we care anyway. * Cheers, BlackHole2006 * secretly I do
Young Lover
that would be great news! but that site looks a bit scrappy at the moment, so could be a mistake. Anyone more in the know able to elaborate!?!?!?
Ice Fatality
See, I'm sure I read somewhere Emily Eavis said that Franz Ferdinand would "repeat (a performance they did in somerset last year), and then some, on the pyramid stage at glasto '09" But can't remember for the life of me what the souce was... anyone got any idea if I just imagined this? Also, would work out great for me if true because in 99% of cases I'd love to see Fanz, but the Boss had just edged it for me
dacbo
wouldn't be suprised if FF were now second pyramid headliners on saturday. if i remember rightly the info saying they'd headline other was far from concrete and what with the fourth headliner no longer on the cards maybe FF are playing in that slot now. hope so, makes way for a better saturday night alternative Edited April 19, 2009 by dacbo

scappaflow
Franz are def Pyramid stage material. They put on an amazing show and are true performers. Considering Amy Winehouse and the Kooks have been 2nd last on the Pyramid stage for the last two Saturday night slots, I think Franz would p1ss all over both of them!! finner
Hope there has been a change of plan and Franz are second top on the Pyramid. Wouldn't mind seeing them but I'm not going to miss Springsteen.
finner
Winehouse was bad, Kooks were worse. Franz Ferdinand could easily be the worst of the lot.
Mardy
2008? I have to say I watched Winehouse and was absolutely caught up in the drama of it. It was an astonishing performance. Greek tragedy played out large, I'd have rather her losing the plot in a ghastly, hypnotic way than a bunch of second rate pseudo indie chancers going through the motions. That was a f**king moment to tell your grandkids about, not a competent, polished but highly dull set from the fratellis et al.
Mardy
I've just pondering this as the kettle boiled, music should be unpredictable, it shoud be about eh moments that you can't see coming. I'd rather have Dylan antagonising the crowd and getting booed off, winehouse stumbling about, primal scream refusing to leave the stage than Paul McCartney flogging out a polished set of his greatest hits for the millionth time. Mardy
Are you kidding? Wino feckin punched someone in the crowd and could hardly take two steps in the same direction. Sure it was good TV, sitting at home on Saturday night... <b>but as an artist she was a total disgrace</B. the Kooks... I like them, but come on! One decent album, a tabloid romance and they are 2nd top billing at Glasto. Franz are a total class act, and if they headline the Other stage on Saturday night it will be heaving. scappaflow
There's a long long list of artists who are violent pisspots. I'd argue that it comes with the territory in a lot of cases. Can you imagine how dull life would be if all our atists were teetotal pacifists who never went of the rails? As it goes, i quite like FF and think they'll put on a decent set, they're a good enough band.
Mardy
hehehe, yeah, you're right. fair point. I did, I think, type 'substance abuser' first, but then decided it was too tossy a phrase to use on a sunday night forum post

Originalshez
Franz won't get a huge crowd. A lot of people will see Bruce out of curiosity and stay for his whole set.

Mardy
yeah, I accept that you don't agree and that's cool. I was fascinated by it, as were the people near me. We see, as ever, what we want to see. I've seen teh Pogues tear themselves apart on stage, teh Reid brotehrs look like they were going to come to blows and Blur play when Alex and Graham were so pissed they didn't have a f**king clue what was going on. Life I said, music is about peaks and troughs, it's about the thrilling and the unexpected, both good and bad.
