joshwarrr
Do they not let you take food from Guernsey to UK? Def worth at least picking up a box of cereal and milk? Prob need to buy milk after a few days, but that could be 5 breakfasts... £15 saved right there. Also... hunners of cereal bars are good as you can just pick a pile up at a supermarket and there is nil prep time. I usually make up a load of wee rolls and sausage with tomato sauce in them... yum! And fire a few layers of cling film round them. Will perhaps make a wee tomato based pasta as well, as I like that cold.

Laura_Babs
I always work with: Breakfast - £4, Lunch - £5, Dinner - £6 - so that's £15 for three meals/day. Then I reckon I spend about a fiver/day on snacks (usually mini doughnuts). So that's a total of £20x 5 days - £100 for food. I take most of my booze with me bring an extra £50 for any extra drinks (Brother's cider) and any random things I fancy buying. Then I usually take an extra £50 just in case. So I reckon if you go for £250, you should have plenty. You should def. bring your own booze though because it saves a fortune!

frankie boy
My mum makes the best homemade sasauge rolls. Proper sausauge meat from bucthers and proper pastry Thats my festival food. I remeber my first festival and we took all our own food and the car park was about 3/4 of a mile maybe a mile walk from the car to the campsite and had to make about 3 trips so we have decieded to only bring a limited amount of food Im proberly just going to take 1000s of sasauge rolls. Cant do milk or any dairy after drinking beer the night before always sick The £3 quid a pint is interesting. Never been to glasto so dont no prices but its seems very cheap

barbienightmare
we can take some foods, not meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, honey. the usual stuff you can't take through customs. but also we have a luggage allowance. which is 20Kg. also its my birthday on the monday so i'd quite to be in guernsey, but also i will only have left uni at the beginning of june so thats four flights in a month and that will be a lot of money. sooo i might stay at uni in norwich in which case i will be able to take food. but then i've got to get from norwich to glastonbury or from norwich to rotheram (where my dad lives) then to glastonbury tih him. all very confusing. robith
I get paid on the Friday so it's all good for me! I took a lot of cans last year, but I think this year I'll bring plenty of spirits and just buy pints. Cherry drop vodka went down a storm last year. The food at glasto is too good to skimp on, but This year will bring more pringles to keep away the nackiness. Last year I was like "I'm still hungry, I'll grab another oggie". Seriously I must've spent £50 on oggies
Josie's Cat
Deep fried pizza? Is there anything you guys won't deep fry? *staggers round room clutching heart* - "work damn you work - it's only lard! We've still got the mars bar fritter to eat!" Cold cuts of meat are good to put on rolls, - take some frozen stuff to cook, like bacon and sausages or whatever, that way it will keep a bit longer and help keep the cool box cool! Fruit too, like apples (banana go soggy too quickly, although you could take some green ones?) satsumas/oranges, add some vit C to the booze and grease! Lidl's do a great vacuum packed sliced potatoes/onions/bacon thing for 79p or something, just cut it open and sautee it over your camping stove, really tasty! scappaflow
tbh - the deep fried mars bars are a bit of a myth. Sure, there are places who will do them for you, but it's not on their price list etc. But yes, deep fried pizzas are commonplace. As are turkish delight pizza (kebab meat on a pizza!) As for Fruit! Take tins of fruit. They will def last all week without perishing.

thegremlin_1999
have to say i spent about £100 over download & leeds combined last yr... but then again i dont really drink... last time i did glasto i spent about £250 mind... (i'm taking a lot after having to scrounge off gf etc at glasto last time... haha) but if u take stove and tins (like the little tins of chilli/chicken from m&s etc) u can cut WAY down on spends... Rainy day woman
I reckon I usually spend about £250. That's with a couple of silly purchases, a bit of money wasting, and some of my own booze.
ramragon
i took about £130 last year and spent most of it on booze and a few bits for wor lass and the bairn to keep them happy, took our own food which saved a fortune and plenty of our own drink, just had pints when we were out and about. the average pint was about £3.50, not too bad for an ice cold offering as opposed to the tent warmed ones we had ! Josie's Cat
Tins of fruit are a good idea. Deep fried mars bars a myth? Noooooo! Say it isn't so. I have heard of "Mars Bar suppers" - fried mars and chips! I once spent a good hour on a rather wasted evening pondering the price of such an offering - I came up with £2. Kebab meat pizza sounds nice, for a second there I thought you were going to say fried Turkish Delight! Lamb pizza with redcurrant jelly is great, as is chicken tikka pizza. With mint yogurt dressing.
