Buying wood

does anyone know how much a bag of wood costs at reading these days?

i'm trying to work out my budget for the weekend.

also, where do you buy it from?

i remember it being just outside the arena about 5 years ago, but i've not been since.

It's near reaper bridge, can't remember how much it is these days though.

Theres absolutely loads of wood there, and its quite cheap to be honist, no worries!

Was £5.50 at the Reaper Bridge last year.

If you shop around it'll be £4 from the traders, and if you know how to build a fire properly you can get a better deal from those guys as you can actually say things like "I want one bag of logs and then two normal ones" or if you're friendly you can probably get away with a "hmm... this one's a bit light ain't it mate?". Two phrases that do not go down at all well at Reaper Bridge in my experience.

Well that was the idea last year so off me and my mate went, broke up a ton of crates (pretty fun with all the karate kicks) only to take them back to the campsite and have them taken off us at the gates!!

the no drinks allowed in the arena forcing everyone to pay the extortionate bar prices..nothing to do with safety or anything. and then this? whatever next

Its probably someone on the gates getting the rules wrong. Your not allowed to take whole pallets in, but you should be able to take broken up ones in. Unless things have changed...

Last year we were told we had to make sure big pallets and boxes were smashed up into smaller pieces, then they could take them through.

Shouldn't really be burning pallets unless they havent been treated. the smoke is bad enough without adding toxins from the paint/treatments to the mix
