Which is the better slot?

I was just wondering...

In the Top Trumps world of festival slots which slot has the most kudos. If you are in a band is it better to get second to headiner on Pyramid Stage or headliner on the Other Stage?

With all the recent excitement about Kasabian playing before Springsteen I wonder if the Other headline slot would be more appropriate. Or have they got the better deal already?

That's a matter of opinion.

Personally I prefer the other stage, it's got a beter sound system, so if I were a band I'd probably want that gig.

Eh? Why is the sound not so good on main stage? You would think they would spend most money on best system for the headline acts?

I've not been to Glasto before. Is there much difference between the sound quality across different stages on the site? The sound quality of a gig is very important to me these days. I must be getting old!!

In terms of enjoyment for me, the other stage wins every time.

I reckon they weigh about the same in an artists mind though. Sometimes the sunset slot is better for some acts...remember flaming lips? faithless?

But as a headliner you probably get a massive say on lights, videos, sound etc. Plus a longer set and a crowd definitely there to see you, rather than waiting for whoevers after.

I think headlining the other stage is bigger as headliners have additional lights back drops etc and a longer set.

i Have only ever been down in the crowd once at other stage coz we camp like straight down from it.

never matters though the show is still as good.

Think it also depends who you're playing under on the Pyramid Stage. I think Kasabian see playing under Bruce Springsteen as his "special guests" as a pretty big thing. If you were asked to play under someone you didn't really rate, then I guess headlining The OTher stage would be better.

Well 2nd from top on pyramid is more high-profile but I'd personally prefer to headline the Other Stage if I were in a band.

They get longer sets, more lights, and will be playing in total darkness which adds to the atmosphere.

2nd from top on Pyramid and 2nd from top on the Other Stage are MILES apart however.

Playing the sunset set can indeed be great, but what you have got to remember is that Kasabian will be on directly before the Boss, so this will probably mean taking to the stage at 2pm!!!
